    Jack had the idea that he wanted to change but didn’t have the push until he got to America. Then, he had his final cigarette and put that part of his life behind him. Carolene gets home and starts cussing out her mom. Jack gets home and hugs his parents and tell them about the army.

However in return it's expected that he's going to keep his word and that that will be his last cigarette which it was. These parents know how to treat teenagers and how to give them responsibility and get them to change

    Carolene learned nothing, was disrespectful throughout her stay, however Jack did an amazing job, stayed respectful and followed all the rules and changed his life for the better.. One of the best kids on this show. I wish him all the luck in the world

    I am disgusted with Carlene, at the outset i thought it would have been Jack that would have played up and learnt nothing from the experience as he refused to not smoke was totally amazed. He was the one who changed , very pleased to see that even talking about feeling sorry for the choices he made and said he was thinking of joining the forces to ensure he put his old life behind him. Charlene was completely disrespectful. But then i am not surprised when the girl has not been set any boundaries or given consequences for her actions at home with her mum

    Carlene wasn’t using anyone. She didn’t owe Laval any loyalty. The word ‘loyalty’ belongs to friends and family.     These parents were respectable, opposed to some of the other parents on this show. The father even let the kid smoke one more time. He was understanding, and was trying to teach the kids rather than simply make them live by his rules
