I have a Poulan 245a. I had it running great for about a month and the day of my Halloween party it wouldn’t start. Could that possibly just be a spark plug or something else. I was also wondering if you do custom work. I’d like to ship mine to you to get it screen accurate if possible. Thank you

There's a number of things Crank seals The points to the electronic ignition system The spark plug Compression Fuel lines The carburetor itself A lot could be wrong, a little thing like just one of the fuel lines being bad could be the issue. Take it to a shop they'll take a look at it.

I had to rebuild a carb on one of my 306a saws and just recently had to replace the lines on my new 306sa old stock

At conventions Edwin Neil The Hitchhiker always said they used a McCulloch chainsaw, and Gunnar Hansen always said the saw was yellow in the movie, how could both actors that were with the Saw be wrong?, it was always the wonderful green Poland 245a 👍

@@joshuaporter-vq8ubthe 306a is just a different model of chainsaw Poulan was selling around the 70’s. Regardless, in the movie they used a 245A.

Nope, early 245A (roughly 1969-72 particular), common misconception.

They did use a 306 A Poulan and they upgraded it by adding a 245 A fuel tank and muffler I believe

You would need to have a 306 A Poulan chainsaw with a Poulan 245 fuel tank.If you think the movie saw was a 245 A Poulan then you don’t know anything about the movie.

@@dencocreations1701 actually it hasn’t.the motherfucker that played the role of leatherface told the story on what the saw was and it was a few other parts of the 245 a used on the 306 a. It’s a fact that the parts on these two saws are interchangeable it’s not a coincidence that the god damn story makes sense.I wouldn’t have said shit if all of it wasn’t true but it is.

@@allanfonseca3016 makes sense? Why would a small production go through all the trouble of switching all the parts to one saw, that’s dumb, especially if you’re trying to save money, what happened was they borrowed the saw (like a lot of other props, including the house and the van) from a local logger, and used it for the film before returning it, where it lived its life a couple more years, before being thrown in a dump, never to be seen again.

@@dencocreations1701 because it’s a one of a kind and they are in the business of being creative.Did you actually think that they just chose whatever stock model saw that they came acrossed.It’s the main point of the movie.They are movie makers and storytellers.
