Was looking for this! Just to add to it, B.C. is English for "Before Christ" which is why that notation varies from language to language. For example in Spanish, it's A.C. (Antes de Cristo). But it's A.D. across most languages, if not all.

And often replaced with "CE" for "common era" and "BCE" for "before common era" in academic and formal documentation so it's more palatable for other cultures which do not subscribe to Christianity but have adopted the same calendar system for interoperability. Might be weird to be a Buddhist and be referring to the "year of our lord" when that is not your belief system.

The terminator, even just the top half, could be deadly. It is so strong that if it got a single hand gripping around her ankle or wrist she would be dead because you would never be able to pry lose and it would just work its way up to your throat.

If you like The Terminator, you will like the sequel even more. The highly anticipated sequel was released seven years later (1991). Thanks to the success of the first movie, the franchise was given a bigger budget to work with. The CGI in the sequel was ahead of it's time. In the end, T2 would go on to become one of the most successful blockbusters in cinema history grossing more than $520 million dollars at the box office.

Terminator is not a trilogy... The only real Terminator films are the first two films James Cameron he never wanted a saga In 1984, he created, wrote, directed and produced a big screen nightmare he made in a hospital, but it wasn't very well known yet, the budget wasn't big enough and some of the special effects didn't exist yet. So he was forced to give up some aspects of what he originally wanted to do in order to reduce the budget and get around the technical obstacles... For example, originally he had the idea of two Terminators, one good guy who is mechanical (the T600) and another bad guy who is made of liquid metal (the T1000), but he had to give it up due to lack of budget and technological advancement The success of the first Terminator film made him so much money that he could now finally bring to the screen the scenario he had in mind from the start So, he wrote, produced and directed Terminator 2: Judgment Day... That's why we find similar scenes... I don't tell avoiding to make a spoiler, but you'll see by yourself 😉 The two Terminator films are not talking about cyborgs but about humanity An indication confirming that my point is correct and that the threat denounced by James Cameron is not technological but human, is the scene in T2 where two (human) children are playing with toy guns, one saying to the other "I killed you", "No, I killed you ! You're dead!" and John Connor telling the T600 "We're not gonna make it, are we?" and the T600 responding "It's in your nature to destroy yourself." The film ends exactly as it should, with the very point James Cameron was trying to make through the Terminator oeuvre (1 and 2) : "The unknown future rolls toward us. I face it for the first time with a sense of hope, because if a machine, the Terminator, can learn the value of human life, maybe we can too." The subject is not cyborgs but humanity! There was never supposed to be a Terminator 3 (and therefore no 4, 5 or 6, obviously!), but Hemdale Film Corporation, which is the studio that has the rights to several films including Terminator, went bankrupt in 1991 and sold its entire repertoire, and therefore the inherent rights, to Consortium de Réalisation, a French company owned by Crédit Lyonnais... The exploitation rights of Terminator thus passed to other hands ... In 2003, Terminator 3 was released. James Cameron refused to participate and shot down the Terminator 3 initiative in the media He never wanted to make Terminator a saga! But he couldn't do anything about it, the contract with Hemdale no longer existed as the repertoire was bought by another studio, James Cameron had no control over his work at all That's why it took so long for him to come back to participate in a Terminator (Terminator : Dark Fate), and in my opinion, he did it knowingly to demolish the saga! So that Terminator would be worthless, lose all credibility It was his way of putting an end to the saga. But we can talk about Terminator : Dark Fate (the 6th Terminator film produced by James Cameron)... James Cameron completely lost the control of it as he produced it, thinking that as a Producer he could manage the film (which is usually the case, the producer manages and the director execute the will of the Producer) but the director, Tim Miller, took the control and refuse to do what James Cameron wanted him to do, so it was over : James Cameron completely lost his creation after Terminator 2 : The Judgement Day

28:19 Around the time that this movie came out they published a tie-in novel. In the novel it is revealed that Sarah did tell John who his father was. When John Connor came to power over world military forces, he found Kyle and put him in a unit close to him. He never actually told Kyle about their familial relationship. As Kyle said one day John just gave him that photo of Sarah. In the future, being John Connor’s mom Sarah is a highly regarded military figure like Joan of Arc. So to be given an original photo of her was a great honor. Kyle never knew John was secretly playing matchmaker. When Kyle volunteered to go back in time, John made him remember that speech he told Sarah in the tunnel. Once Kyle could repeat it verbatim,John hugged him and quickly walked out of the room. It was only after the time jump was done, that John tearfully revealed to the soldiers and technicians present that Kyle was his dad.

The Terminator is possibly the greatest "B-movie" ever made. By that i mean, it is the greatest low-budget sci-fi ever produced. The Terminator is a great inspiration for future filmmakers. Cameron showed us what can be possible on a small budget and its freaking amazing. T2 on the other hand is the greatest action movie ever made. Cameron showed us whats possible once youve established yourself in the industry. And its freaking phenomenal.

Tynia A.D. stands for Anno Domini i think, Anno means year, and Domini i think means lord or god, the year of our lord, which was year 0 or 1 , and we started marking our calendars after that, and so we call the years before Jesus was born, B.C. before Christ so we count backwards i think so 540 bc might mean 5 hundred and forty years backward from year 0.

Great reaction. The two of you were great together. Fun fact: The studio originally wanted O.J. Simpson to play the Terminator, but Cameron said he couldn't see Simpson as a cold-blooded killer. Cameron originally wanted to cast Schwarzenegger as Reese but, when the two met over lunch, Schwarzenegger kept telling Cameron how he thought the Terminator should be played so, by the end of lunch, Cameron decided to cast him as the Terminator. In an interview, Schwarzenegger said he tried to convince Cameron that the famous line "I'll be back" should be "I will be back". He argued that it sounded more robotic to not use contractions. He said eventually Cameron just said "I don't tell you how to act, don't you tell me how to f***ing write!" and he dropped it. I agree with all the others who said you should watch Terminator 2. It's one of the few sequels that's better than the original.

I feel like it's important to mention that this movie had basically no budget. That, I think, is more the driving factor of the look of the Arnold puppet. James Cameron has proved--starting with the sequel--that given the money, he _will_ make a movie look good, and make everything look fitting. Furthermore, the Terminator skeleton puppet wasn't given to the stop-motion team until almost the very last minute, so they had less than a _quarter_ of the time to make a model and film it than they should have had. Any of the movie's visual flaws are not the fault of the director or a factor of the era. It's too little money and too little time. As for the time loop vis-a-vis Kyle and John and all, even the franchise doesn't keep it straight. That said, Kyle was born in the future. No matter what happens, that he was born in 20XX doesn't change. Imagine it as your apartment or house. You start in the living room, then go to the kitchen. Just because you're in the kitchen, now, that doesn't change the fact that you were just in the living room. Just because Kyle unalived in 1984, that doesn't mean he wasn't born in 20XX. I'm fully on-board with the "watch the sequel" train. It really is considered as good, some even consider it much better, than the first. Also, as I alluded to, it had a bigger budget and a lot more time, so everything looks positively stunning. That said, personally, I suggest to just ignore the franchise thereafter, save for _Terminator: Dark Fate._ The movies and series get really weird, contradict each other and themselves, and generally are just a mess. _Dark Fate,_ however, was made specifically to take place after the first sequel, _Terminator 2: Judgment Day,_ so it thoroughly ignores all that chaos, plus it was created with direct involvement by James Cameron. Personally, I feel it's a very good third movie to follow the first two.

Especially the second one, "Judgement Day." Then you can watch so many really good ones like "Alien", "Aliens" and others like the "Predator," "Die Hard", "Independence Day" with Will Smith and so many other awesome classic ones. I mean you will see that you have it made and will really enjoy all of them. BUT ONE THING. YOU'VE GOT TO WATCH THE FRANCHISE ONES IN STRAIGHT ORDER. You know like "Predator", "Predator 2", etc, etc. Do your best to watch them in correct order. You'll understand and enjoy them a lot more. It really makes the movie classics a lot more enjoyable. Try to make the next the "Alien" series. You'll really dig them. Well, just thought I'd let you know and I look forward to your comments and opinions on all of the. The funny thing about time travel is the very act of doing it creates a paradox. And since we have no way of knowing how it would work, writers have to come up with their way to resolve the paradox. So in this story, there is no timeline where Kyle doesn't travel back in time. It always happens. It always will happen. Kyle will be born, travel back in time, die in the past in perpetuity. It's a loop that ensures the existence of John Conner.

I like picking at paradoxes in time travel movies. I feel like there doesn't really have to be a paradox here though and the John Connor that first sent Kyle Reece back had a different father in the timeline where terminators weren't sent back to kill him... the base/original timeline... in the end it doesn't really matter who his father was because it was his mother that raised him to be the leader he was. No matter who Sarah gave birth to or who the father was, that kid was gonna grow up to lead the resistance. He wasn't a leader because of his genes, but because she raised him to be one. I do however believe the John Conner that sent THIS Kyle Reece back was actually Kyle's son because the photo of her sitting there thinking about him existed in the timeline he came from, and I doubt that exact same photo would exist if she wasn't sitting there thinking about him... also, there's no reason the original father would have to have died before the war like Kyle did. Also, the terminator at the end looked so bad in some shots and not others because the full shots where you saw limbs and stuff moving were shot with stop motion, and stop motion looks junky because there's 0 motion blur.. but for the close up shots they just moved it in real-time naturally

    1. Linda Hamilton ROCKED. She's really built in T2. "Terminator 2 Judgment Day" is the action movie GOAT. 2. Along with Lance Henriksen/Vukovich, Michael Biehn/Reese and Bill Paxton/punk also played in "Aliens" as Bishop, Hicks and Hudson respectively. 3.We have limited AI now. So does China.😱 4. If this wasn't a movie the ammunition would not have been available on the gun shop counter. 5. Ginger's boyfriend Matt must be a lousy lay if she needs rock and roll to "rock and roll".🙄 6. Watching people react to the eye operation is worth watching this all by itself. 7. THAT'S a bitch slap.😏

Kyle was from future. He had to go back as part of the cosmic plan to be John Connor's father, but in the process dies before he can grow old. Which makes sense, because from the moment he goes back in time, he will no longer exist in the future. So, John Connor continues to fight and win, as long as Kyle goes back and defeats the Terminator. The Terminator is actually trying to *change* history, Kyle is trying to preserve it. Whew, finally figured it out. 30 years.

You are looking at time as linear. Think of it as a board game. You can pick up a piece and move it earlier in the game or later in the game but the piece still exists in the game. Kyle's death happened earlier in the general time line before his birth.
