The Terengganu that you don't usually see

In this video we explored the Terengganu that people don't usually get to see, but first we started the day in Kuala Terengganu having breakfast at Terradala (www.terradala.com/) museum cafe.
- Our first stop of the day was Jambu Bongkok fishing village (near Marang), a place that is commonly used for movies and dramas sets for it's scenic surroundings.
- After that we went to melaleuca forest, people here in Malaysia use the wood from the trees to build fences or small pieces of indoor furniture and it's bark is used to seal the gaps between the wood planks on the traditional boats (see this video - • Learning Ancient Boat ... Learning Ancient Boat Building Technique).
- The next spot was Kuala Abang beach, a very popular spot amongst the locals in the evenings.
- Turtle stone was also part of our tour, Batu Penyu (Turtle Stone) is located in Bukit Che Hawa, Rantau Abang and the legend says that one day a playful turtle went up the hill but lost it's way and was unable to return and turned into stone, people believe that if the stone is destroyed or disturbed leatherback turtles won't return to the beach located just down the hill to lay eggs, the stone was been in fact disturbed over the years and leatherback turtles are now a extremely rare sight.
- Last but not least spot of the day was to Kampung Batu Puteh to visit a coconut farm and learn how gula melaka is made, gula melaka is a type of sugar made from the flower bud of a coconut palm tree, they cut the flower and collect the liquid that comes out from it, this liquid is then cooked for a few hours until it becomes darker and have a gooey consistency.

@@asmrnaturecat984 It is a mixture of both. Hindu mix with animistic. Just like Islamic practices still mixed with animistic and Hinduism after that. The natural practices - animistic - always influenced the one that have interest to keep it alive, like shamans or bomohs. They try to keep it alive due to their earnings depending on it by way of people giving them stuffs for doing protection ceremonies/rituals. But probably at that time it is true that the hinduism-buddhism did not influenced the sacrificial ceremonies of giving the blood to beaches. It is purely animistic. When people embraced Buddhism and/or Hinduism, some people think the animistic practices are due to Buddhism or Hinduism. Bali people are said to practise Hinduism but many of their practices have the element of animistic in it.

But nowadays, i drive to kampungs to relax and enjoy, eat the kampung chicken, etc hahas...Thanks for sharing ! BTW, ask the locals in Trengganu...if there will be a boatload of fishermen returning from sea using the colourful traditional boat. The boat will be pushed/pulled up to the sandy beach by sand. Loaded with all kinds of catches just below the deck....and the whole kampung will rush down to help unload. I saw that once, and you would be making a most fantastic video on that if u have a chance. But i guess u might not...since we are so close to monsoon already.
