Wow, the amount of people here who think banning people, from being doctors, running schools in their own language, voting in local elections, and being treated like total shit, just because of their religion, is shocking. Serbs nor albanians should be treated as second class citizens in their own country, if you plan on keeping it as your own country.

a lot of Turkish Sultans were Serbian and Greek nephews. more than a dozen of em had Greek or Serbian mothers. All the balkan nations combined didnt fight against the Turks as much as Albanians did, its a historical fact. Another historical fact is that the Ottoman Empire allowed Serbs and Greeks schools in their language, even financed them, and many other rights and privileges. Albanians never had such privileges, Turks never ever allowed not 1 single school to open in Albanian.

Serbs like to dream and say that hundreds of thousands of Serbs left Kosova, but the fact is that only a few thousand Serbs left Kosova since there werent many Serbs there in the first place. Its just another myth, like the myth of Mirosh from Drenice who killed the Sultan in 1389. dude was from Drenice rofl, never ever throughout history have Serbs lived in Drenice. actually Drenice was a hotbed of Albanian resistance against every foreign invader, since the Roman times.

So there were all of prerequisite of the conflict and Kosovo's separation out of Serbia

in the 17th century, during the Austrian-Turko war, all Albanians, especially those from Kosove joined the Austrians. But shit turned out badly, really bad. During that time Serbs remained neutral and they even helped the Turks. (I guess for them and Russia, it was better Turks than Austria) its also during this time that a few Serbs left Kosova led by the Bishop of Decan or whatever. This is where another myth is created in Serbian history of the so colled exodus from Kosove

In 1996-1997 Milosevic missed a good chance to have a UN mediator appointed to Kosovo to mediate on this dispute...he could have dictated the terms of a settlement and called the bluff of the Albanians.

Its quite clear that Albanians threaten other establishments through previous ruling. No matter what religious back ground you come from there is always the push of you ideals, the conflict continues. What is happening to Albanians is an agenda that does not come from Serbian, Kosovo it is foreign & it has a strong mandate to insure its success is delivered no matter what. The Albanians are better to let go of the past learn to for give the Serbs and work together regardless of what happens .

The reason Albanians became a majority in Kosovo is due to decades of opression and murder of all non-Albanian members of the population. The 21st Waffen Mountain Division of the SS "Skanderbeg" was mainly made up of Albanians. On 14 May 1944 members of the division raided Jewish homes in Pristina, arrested 281 Jews and handed them over to the Germans, who sent them to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, where many were killed.
