you forgot about the part that they are better protectors than any other dog breed :) My mini dachshund girl (lived 19 yrs) ruled my pitbull mix and Weimaraner. She would go to the ends of the world to protect her world but also she was the first dachshund in vermont to become a therapy dog in 2008. Man I miss that little girl

What a gorgeous blondie.

When you sit down they are in your lap, in the kitchen they stand by you with a paw on your foot, when you are sitting on the toilet they will curl up between your legs in your pants. Not clingy at all. When they pass you will have a hole in your life. Very loving pups.❤❤❤❤

They are probably the very best dog for the elderly! Just pure Love!

They are OUTSTANDING!!

My boy lived to be almost 16. 🥲 pulled through a bout of DKA- I was so sure I’d lost him in 2019- I got 5 more years to properly say goodbye. He fought diabetes for so long.

They also like sitting with you under a blanket because they were bred for hunting in small dark tunnels Dachshunds are also surprisingly fast

@@Mystii03omgggg yess my little dachshund, Sadie, loves zooming around the house sometimes, when she gets like really excited. She does laps of the house and will jump up and down off furniture while speeding around, it’s so funny

Pleeeeease don’t tell me that - I rescued one from a dismal situation just recently - she has peed on my bed twice and on every single rug I own - I now have puppy pads……everywhere!!!

Very protective and loud barkers, cute doesn't fully express how BIG these dogs are in a home. I have 2 that keep me very busy and on alert since they bark at everything.

they are so fun to be with.. and have a high drive, funny and very playful,. love to cuddle too.. very sweet!

I am very sorry to hear about Daisy. I had a lilmini weenie. She's still alive livingvwithbmy mother on her ranch. Her name is Lilly. Looks just like this baby they are showing. I always said if I had 2 Miss Lilly bell and Miss Daisy Mae I only had Lilly. I'm starting to think she would have probably been happier with one of her siblings. When I started back up with hospice, her separation anxiety was horrible. I would cry when it was time to leave. She would walk up her Lil stairs to our bed, burrow down under the covers.. she wouldn't eat all day... I had to give her to my mom who lives on a ranch. Everyone is happy now. Lilly has recognized that's her momma now. It's been a few years now.. I still miss that part of my life... I'm sorry I've gone on and on.. I am truly sorry About daisy. I hope Lilly is doing fine. My Heidi, was the most loving dog.. She would sit on the couch over my shoulder and hold her head there. She looked like a puppy still full grown. I hate we lose our best friends in life. ❤

German CH is pronounced similar to Spanish J as in Juan. If you can't pronounce this sound, opt for K instead, which certainly comes closer than the sh-sound used in this short video. The correct pronunciation of Dachshund is duh-J-s-hoo-nd. These dogs are also called Dackel ("duh-kell"). Dachs means badger, it has nothing to do with dashing.
