There's a fair chance of that happening. France is a MONSTER with that frontcourt. They also have outside shooting from the guards along with some decent passing. The only real advantage the US has is Embiid (if he's healthy) who can maybe score on Rudy and even get him in foul trouble. But if he can't (or if he is the one in foul trouble), France is better than the US 1-5. The Americans have the depth, but I wouldn't be shocked if you saw the French starters play 40 minutes each and own the paint. It'll come down to if the US can hit enough 3s to overcome the size disadvantage AND France's outside shooting. They'll need to be at 45%-50% to have a chance.

What makes you think the "Big stars" are the ones who will make a difference? Kyrie is one of the best international style players and didn't get an invite. White (Boston) would have been a great addition with his defense, outside shooting, and willingness to do the dirty work. There are at least a half-dozen NBA stars who don't qualify as the "Big stars" who play better as part of a team. Big stars = big egos and maybe LeBron playing in clutch time isn't the thing that's going to help your team the most when you go 10 deep of great players.

I'll be interested to see them face the French team that just beat Germany by 20 (after being ahead 35 before garbage time). A front line of 7'4 / 6'10 / 7'2 is no joke. If Wemby is hot, the US has no one that can guard him. No defensive 3 seconds so Rudy can stand in the lane and stop ANYONE on the US team from scoring. They have multiple elite 3pt shooters and play real defense. Good luck to 40 year old LeBron and 35 year old Steph.

Comparisons are great because we will never know what would happen. I was 18 years old for the 92 dream team, because I lived the 92 team it will always be the best That doesn't mean this is not as good. We just need to be proud to be Americans & I hope we win. That's all I care about
