Mauritius is severely underrated! Been on my radar for years and I'm working toward permanent residency. However ‼️ they don't allow dual citizenship for naturalized citizens, this is a pretty big con (if you want their passport)

I want to support Ivan's wish. I lived on the continent and had an account with Bank of Mauritius, no complaints ever - like private banking. As the very rich made holidays on that island I always thought it would be far over my pay grade, so I am surprised. Yes, please tell us about cost of living. Is there an additional cost for the pp (like in KittsNevis)?

@@WealthyExpat All you speculators who don't want to work. Who did not acquire wealth with their mind, experience, innovation, hard work. What are you called self-proclaimed exclusive investors. Who only live on dividends, market and crypto speculation. You pay workers very low wages for miserable working conditions. You are not creating real new and added value. You extract money from countries and companies that you did not build with your knowledge and work. And thus you devastate societies with your parasitism. You who have acquired wealth through oligopolistic clientelism and rentierism. You who live in your paradise gardens in your villas, sail on gigantic yachts, private planes. You are bathing in your idle lazy money that you did not earn by working. "We don't want to live in totalitarian states that charge us taxes." Well, my dear friends, everything should be taxed. For every ten cents that you want to take out of the country where you have parasitically appropriated them, you need them through taxes shrink at least 8 cents. No freedoms are taken away from you. They do not deny any rights. But you should be denied the rights to be parasites. You cannot be rich without hard work and without contributing to the community with innovations, new jobs, new patents. I have nothing against rich and successful people. But only those who are adored by their clients, workers, suppliers. And people who have a smile from ear to ear for a paid product or service. Indeed. I admire people who put their soul, body, heart and mind on the line with hard work to create top companies. Spent days and nights in their companies, which today produce top products and services. Who invest in their communities and educate their employees and pay them well. Parasites, lazy people and idlers should all be taken away from you through taxes.

Very nice video! I’ve been living in Mauritius for 10 months now. When you said you were really impressed by certain things, i was shocked to hear DRIVING being one of them. This is something that challenges me on a daily basis. The roads are narrow, people drive like CRAZY and there are hardly any pavements so a lot of people walk on the side of the narrow roads. Not trying to spoil it but i think for anyone considering the beautiful Mauritius, they should be aware of these issues that seem to trouble most foreigners here

In percentage to population, MAURITIUS IS THE WORST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD IN THE AMOUNT OF ROAD ACCIDENTS! NO wonder a tiny island with 1.2 million has 200,000 vehicles! The rich Mauritians show off with their expensive cars - Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini! It's CRAZY for a country of 700 square miles to have such bolides flying all over the island!

Everything I have read in regards to Mauritian citizenship law requires renouncing all prior citizenships to gain Mauritius citizenship and it appears acquiring another citizenship after obtaining Mauritian citizenship would cause you to lose Mauritius citizenship. There also appears to be a potential for Mauritian citizens to lose citizenship by being absent from the country for too long.

I don't live there but visit every other year as my parents are Mauritian. It's relatively safe but in cities inland, there are drug related issues, mainly between locals but you never know. Other issues that shouldn't impact expats I think but if you live there you might see it, it's the ethnic tensions between different cultures (e.g Hindus vs Creoles or muslims) it's not as rosy and peaceful as they like to portray. Most people are usually nice and kind to expats, as a rule of thumb, as blunt as it sounds if you are white of European descent you would be left in peace. Overall, pretty safe I would say, most people are friendly and always help, the only danger might be boredom ahah it's pretty dead everywhere come 8pm apart from a few bars and restaurants
