Generally speaking, Cancer goes better with water signs Scorpio or Pisces, and earth signs Capricorn, Virgo and Taurus (it's hit or miss with Capricorn). There are other elements to our astrological make that need to be considered, as well. For you with your Gemini, might I suggest that you not take things too personally with this sign? An immature Taurus. A mature Taurus(at least female, not sure about the males) will not flirt and will actually respect their man and not even talk to other guys if possible.

Good assessment of Taurus with Cancer. As a Cancer with lots of air signs in my chart, sadly, Taurus is not a good match for me. Too clingy and co-dependant! So, I usually work best with Libra, Aries and Gemini. Go figure!
