So... I threw the Tarrasque at my players in a Pathfinder Mythic campaign. They were level 14, Mythic 7, and had a month to prepare. The Wizard finished it in one round by teleporting TO THE MOON. He had spent two weeks preparing a chasm that was at a livable temperature with breathable air, so that it was q valid teleportation target. Basically, the Tarrasque popped that little bubble and promptly suffocated. Of course, that doesn't kill it, but it does make it hibernate until it can breathe again.

I once wanted to do a Tarrasque mid campaign encounter to chase off everyone and destroy a city and make it a hook for them to find a way to beat it later on. I made it appear at the end of a session as a cliffhanger and planed to end there. I prepared in advanced a 7th level teleport spell scroll for them in order to escape. Then the wizard decided to cast the reduce spell on everyone and use the spell scroll to teleport inside the Tarrasque. This shouldn't have worked for multiple reasons the reduce spell lasts for only 1 min and it only makes you small there is no air inside it. But I liked the idea so next session instead of a mad dash to leave a falling city like I planed I made a inside the body campaign to destroy its hart and brain.

Damn, tried to figure out of you could solo a Tarrasque without any special abilities or magical items. But sadly the result is only a draw, as in an indefinite fight. Wait, no. I stand corrected. You can kill a Tarrasque. Because it is not immune to exhaustion. You still need a lvl20 character to pull it off tho. Here's the deal: IF you are alone, that means the Tarrasque will attack you 6 times. (5 on his turn one at the end of yours) Assuming the legendary action attack is the most powerful one and going by avarage damage, the Tarrasque will deal 2 bite, 2 claw, one horn and one tail attack. ON avarage this means 184 nonmagical damage on every turn. Two attempts to grapple and restrain and one attempt at knocking prone. So this is what you do: You bring a lvl 20 circle of the moon druid. You should be able to succeed the saving throw for Frightful presence fairly easily (you have +11 on the roll assuming 20 wisdom). You assume Water Elemental form at the start of your turn. Water elemental has resistance to nonmagical physical damage and immunities to grappled, restrained, prone and exhaustion. It has 228 effective health (114×2 because of resistance), which means that on avarage your elemental form will hold from the end of your turn until the start of your next turn and you will be affected by neither effects the Tarrasque can instill on you. The only risk you take is that you have to reroll the widom saving throw for frightful presence every 24 hours. So to win, all you have to do is when your turn starts, you use your bonus action to leave water elemental form, then use your full action to assume it again, regaining all hit points. Because you have the Archdruid class feature, you can use wild shape an unlimited amount of times and because you are immune to exhaustion while in elemental form, your character will tire considerably less than the Tarrasque will. So you just repeat this until the Tarrasque dies of exhaustion.

One of my favorite campaign hooks is "The path of the tarasque." The setup is that the Tarasque woke up, tore a path of destruction across the land, and vanished. The party is hired to travel and document the route it took. The party always knows which way they have to go, there's always something new to see, and the environments have something going on because the Tarasque did things like expose ancient tombs, break natural barriers that kept warring tribes apart, diverted rivers, etc.

A level 6 Celestial Pact Warlock with a Flying Carpet or Broom of Flying could easily beat a Tarrasque with Sacred Flame. Even with Advantage it has no bonus to Dexterity Saves. It wouldn't be quick and there would be a ton of collateral damage but since it only has a 3 in Intelligence it won't be concocting any crazy plans.

I've just started playing DND about 2 months ago. As a new player my DM suggested I try a not too complicated class to play as. I went with the fighter class. I'm Pertinax a Wild Elf, Fighter 300+ years old hailing from deep within the Forest of Chult (Forgotten Realms 3.5) Next the DM said I needed a back story... Pertinax left his home in the Forest to see the world he didn't get very far and stumbled upon a dwarven Nudist settlement where he learnt the art of getting high off mushrooms. Fast forward 150 years. Pertinax grew tired of conventional mushroom usage and started opting for suppository means. Shortly after his experimentation began He was kicked out of the settlement for indecent use of a certain fungi.( He tried to get the whole settlement of their tits during the great mushroom festival with an illegal spore he had cross bred himself.) Aptly named the Pertiguy! What has made playing this character interesting is the fact that the DM has been kind enough to allow Pertinax to scavenge for all kinds of mushrooms. Most of these mushrooms I have in my inventory will either send you into a mad frenzy or give you great insight with huge physical and charismatic -s

Throw in the fact that the most notable feature of SCP-682 is his hyper-adaptive immortality, which would best be represented by regeneration (although, not most accurately, as that would make him frustratingly unkillable) and it's clear why I made my comment.
