I loved the gearbox build on mine. I sat there with a AA battery powering it and kept shifting it and watching it all work. Of coarse this was done to make sure to get the grease throughout everywhere and not me being a giant kid in awe of it! These trucks are a ton of fun for anyone who like the build process, hours and hours of tinkering and building! great video and I am looking forward to the rest of the series!

Hi Mark and thank you for watching. I’m enjoying every second of this build, I wish the gearbox had a clear cover and a micro camera, would love to capture the gearbox in action 😁. Tamiya have truly captured the 3 speed gearbox system and the selector forks, perfectly with this one, it’s amazing to actually have the gearbox in your hands and think,mi built this 😉😊. Thank you for the kind words and encouragement. I’ve been using this building of this great model as a switch off, from work, it’s been a life saver for sure. The gearbox is a work of art, I even put some AA batteries through battery box, just so that I could see the gears working and the selector forks shifting from low, mid and high gears, sad I know 🤣😂. These trucks are amazing, this gearbox is so intriguing, the selector forks and the in build slip system for when the different gears engage, absolutely amazing. I just love the comedy series ‘open all hours’ with the legendary late Ronnie Barker, hence the stutter and the phrase ‘jer, jer, jiggle it’ 🤣😂🤣 Google search the series, and have a laugh. 😉😊😉take care, best wishes to you and the family 😉

There is certainly quite a few extra parts, but in the typical Tamiya fashion, the manual is very good and is really clear at each step. I promise you, if I can do it, anyone with good Tamiya kit building experience, will be able to build it. Need some patience too. 😊😁. Take care and best wishes to you and the family 😉😊

Buona sera Nanni, come stai? Oh Nanni, this engine and gearbox is a work of art! I managed to put a AA battery pack on the motor a run it at 6V and move the selector forks for the gears, it’s amazing how Tamiya engineered this gearbox 😉😊. I’m enjoying every second of this build. Hiya John. Wow I never realised what a complex gearbox there was in these. It's fascinating how it all goes together. I'm thinking that I'd really enjoy building this but as we both know the resulting slow moving truck isn't really my thing. I was looking and they do some really nice looking ones. Very well videoed and explained by your good self. The cat sneezing on your work probably helped in some way. Pets are so helpful when we are building kits with lots of tiny bits! Good stuff mate. I hope that all is well with you. How was the storm where you are?

But I can’t imagine one of these with a mad Pete Wylie brushless setup 🤣. Yeah, Mr Giz having a bit of of sneezing bout. 😊. He’s always with me when I’m working. Yeah Storms Dudley and Eunice has caused me a headache at work! I work in specialist home claims for a large insurer, so calls ramped up to way beyond what we could cope with. I think here in Peterborough we got away with the worst of the storms, only 60mph gusts, but where you are and the SW really took the brunt of the storms. I hope you and the family are safe and well. If I may just say, I consider anyone that is tackling one of these trucks, not really to be a beginner in building these types of RC Trucks, as they aren’t a beginners kit, so physically showing you how to screw the parts together, wasn’t really the target in these build videos, more of how to interpret the drawing and what goes where.
