I find it very funny that diddy Kong used to be a mid tier character in ultimate. Now you can see that he’s everywhere, all because tweek piloted him so skillfully

not entirely accurate... I mean he did get buffed and made into a better and more fun character rather than just relying on an infinite. those may have contributed to people picking him up, plus even after tweek's hyping the char if you pick a char up and it doesn't feel good you don't play it.

But I think that’s what the diddy players wanted first. Like without context or footage the name of Ice climbers “wobbling” doesn’t sound too ominous but straight calling an Ice climber infinite is asking for people to find out. Calling an infinite by a code name could hide the tech til after the final patch. But the better of the diddy players gotten to them do they wanted to win tournaments right now and then.

Idk whats worse, The Falco Agenda or The Diddy Pyramid Scheme

Let’s freaking go PG stats, the SB nation/ Jon Bois format for sports videos made me care about the shortest punt in football for like an hour so making them for smash is just awesome. If you could get the melee content goat of melee, TDFW, on some chart party-esque stuff that would be sick

Yesssss L4st and Walt have always given me huge Secret Base vibes in their cadence, when I realized this was structured in homage to some of their videos my jaw hit the floor. Great stuff guys, every day I thank the stars we have PGstats giving smash bros high level production and content on the regular.

Someone at PGstats loved SB Nation/Secret Base

Absolutely LOVED the video! Diddy has had such a polarizing ride in Ultimate. Has been hardfully accused of being terrible at the beggining, then once buffed, along with his infinite, was seen as a threat. But then the infinite was patched out, and people slept on him again. People only finally started giving Diddy credit when a top 5 player like Tweek finally picked him up. But now, at least in my opinion, since people started learning the matchup it seems Diddy is on the lower trend again, despite being on so many player's top tier list. This is further supported by Tweek not winning another Major with Diddy after Summit, as well as getting 33rd at Genisis 8. Its very interesting to think about.

I don't care what people say or think about Tweek, that man is coming back with a force and I can feel it, his mechanical skill in this game is so high.

@@mrjollyguy25 true. He's had good highs this time too though. 1st at summit 3, 2nd at riptide and collision, 4th at momocon. Granted these are smaller tourneys but that's mostly because of covid

'Multi Level Marketing" I LOVE THAT

Cool video. Was interesting to see happening in real time and in person at Platinum Star Smash in NJ. Tweek picked up Diddy around the same time as Rivers and they put on some incredible diddy kong ditto grands. If I had to offer any criticisms... I wouldve maybe talked less about the infinite and focused a bit more on the actual building of the meta, culminating by displaying more of Tweeks mastery of the character in grand finals of Summit and breaking down the set more in detail. In the video it kinda seems like Diddy just got buffed and suddenly starting winning soon thereafter, when that wasn't the case at all. Tweek grinded out a bunch of 200+ nj monthly tourneys battling it out with the likes of Rivers, Leon, and Jakal to become damn good relatively quickly with the peanut shooting monkey sidekick.

I'm totally down with PG stats making Secret Base's "Rewind" series, but for Smash Bros.

Interestingly, Player 1 used the pyramid scheme against Marss at Dreamland 2020
