The Tail of the Dragon US 129 Live Chat Long Ride Video

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Watch the Tail of the Dragon Ride Video while chatting live with other subscribers and viewers. After uploading my Arizona video and premiering it live one of the subscribers suggested that I upload longer videos because he enjoyed chatting with the other viewers. I made this video so that we can do just that. Enjoy the chat and the ride!

All these years (I'm 70) I've read about and seen photos of this ride. I may have even seen short video snippets of it, but this is the first video of most of the dragon's tail. At my age, I may not ever get the chance to ride it myself, so THANK YOU for allowing me to ride with you!

I got ya by five years, Gregory and I do love to ride the Dragon. I did a short video of my run last summer and it's always a blast. If you ever get a chance, do it and avoid the weekends when the crowds descend on it and the State Boys set up speed traps: Ask me how I know about that one. LOL.

I’ve ridden that several times over the years. On a GSX-R1000, GSX-R750, ZX-10R, Fatboy, Vulcan Voyager, and the last few times on my Road Glide Ultra. Last year I took my 13 year old son and also rode the new section of the Foothills parkway and part of the Blue Ridge parkway. It was an awesome 3 day trip with the kid.

I rode the Dragon... fun ride. I have a friend that I used to work with at Eastern Airlines in Atlanta, Georgia. He retired and moved back to Robbinsville, N.C. I rode my Harley Low Rider, and He rode his Fat Boy and we rode the Dragon. He lives at the tail and rides the Dragon all the time...

One of the better videos because you start and ride the whole 11 miles to Deals Gap while narrating the ride. Good rules for riding those really curvy roads in that area is NEVER CROSS THE DOUBLE LINE, Ride your own ride and stay on the outside especially in the curves. Don't take these roads for granted, you can get jacked up bad if you aren't paying attention. Bigger bikes aren't as fun as smaller more nimble bikes on these roads. I agree, I like the Foothills Parkway more. You need to ride the Ozarks one day. Long sweeping curves over in the Ozarks. Check out the Legend 'Yellow Wolf on Deals Gap', amazing how the guy rode a 900lb touring bike on that road.

Great video!! The Dragon's Tail can get very busy and the sport bikes do pressure you sometimes to get out of their way as they think it is a race track. Don't get me wrong i recommend riding the Dragon's Tail and all of 129 it is a great ride all the way down through Georgia just be careful and don't let sport bikes or any other vehicle get to you. Go the pace that is safe for you. Your riding at a good time of the year with low traffic. My favorite ride in that area is the Cherohala Skyway.

Fun fact it doesn't actually have 318 curves. A group of riders drinking around the fire pit at the hotel 20+ yrs ago came up with that and it stuck when they put it on a shirt and started selling them at the overlook. It actually has about 210, it started as an indian trail and the aluminum company "Alcoa" paved it to build fontana dam which powered the aluminum plant to support the war effort.
