Started in April this year and I wanted to play 4-3-2-1 but after repeated losses, I tried the 3-5-2. It's insane with ur tactics. there is a defensive overload as well as an offensive overload. it seems like I am playing with more than 11 players. Thank you for sharing these meta tactics

your LB will lose so much stamina doing this that eventually he will be a liability. Same with the LCB as he will try to cover.

Hey Tom, when I check the movement map after the game the CDM is sticking to the middle of the pitch and the RCM is nearly on top of him, rather than moving to the RM in the 442. Meanwhile, the left side of the pitch has logs of empty space. I have confirmed my player instructions but I cant seem to get this formation to truely defend in the 442 like the 41212 did early in the year. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

you have to put cover wing for the RCM btw there's no such thing as a perfect tactic, all can be countered. Sometimes you have to improvise on the run like if you see your opponent hugging the left flank you just call your attacker ( from the right side ) back on defence. it's a good thing to analyze after the game as to why you've conceded and how... you gotta learn from every mistake otherwise you won't improve

Beautiful tactics but when my full back overlaps defending counter attacks seems really hard because they’re right winger or RF is always open for a pass because there is no left back there

you could try flippin the tactics, like make ur RB overlap and your LB stay back, which would mean you'd have your right side attacker on Come back on defense ( instructions )

I can confirm this tactics are one if the best i’ve tried..i tried this weekend and finish rank 2…thx tom..i really appreciate your help

I did, but only in 1 certain squad, I created a new squad to see if it gets fixed. I haven't tested it, but try it, it might help

I’m not sure if I’ve worked it out, could be chatting shit but I think u need ur players to be in the position that they say they are meaning I’ve got Pirlo as a CAM and he’s the wrong midfielder which is doing the glitch like u said as I want him to stay in the middle. So I changed him into a CM and tonali who’s playing CDM into a CM and it fixed and pushed out tonali keeping pirlo in the middle where I want him while I defend. Dunno if this is understandble it’s confusing to explain. But just change the players positions to fit

What u should really do is practice switching players with right stick instead of L1/LB and also use second man press (R1) considerately as well as offside trap. That is the best why to enable a natural press to give the opponent awkward scenarios throughout the game.

I tried the 4321 on old gen with exact the same tactics (except the direct passing, just 3 times balanced) and I won an online draft in 25 minutes. It creates so many options against those rat players
