Robin Trower is a true "Master of the Stratocaster", and has been since the 70's. He is not however, the vocalist in his band. That is Bassist James Dewar, who along with Bill Lordan on Drums, complete the band. A real power trio. The whole "Bridge Of Sighs" album is ... STUPENDOUS.

I'll second that. 50+ years of experiencing this album it never gets old. Peace ✌️

Right on. 👈 Bridge Of Sighs is a must own album for any collection. 🤘
Someone asked Eric Clapton what it's like to be the best guitar player. He said ..."ask Robin Trower".

"The Fool and Me" is an underrated ripper. "Day Of the Eagle is another🚬"
The man’s guitar was an extension of his soul.
This whole album is killer!!! 🎶

Solid album
My first day at college (Sept 75) a long hair I'd never met pulls up in his van (completely carpeted inside) says "Hop In". Puts Bridge of Signs into the tape player and we smoke numerous blunts for at least 2 hours driving around picking up more long hairs along the way. Great way to start the college life!!!

You may have called them blunts, but back then, we called them joints. Or spark up that bowl. ( WEED PIPE )

@@jamesleonard9703 We called them all sorts of names. I didn't want to get JM any strikes by using the J word. I've heard a lot of folks in the N.E. use "spark" but that wasn't a common usage here in the South and MidWest.

Huge Trower fan! Thanks!✌️❤️🤘🥁
Robin Trower, James Dewar & Bill Lordan. Talented musicians, in the studio or live. This was a very nice radio hit.

Caught these guys at the Cellar Door many years ago in Richmond,Va.
When the bass and drums kicked in in the second part, all the hairs on my arms stood up!
I have taken all my 3 children to see Robin. My 19yr old and I were walking to our seats and this loud biker guy yells out, "Look, there goes the father of the year, taking his son to see Robin Trower." Never felt prouder. Robins still melting faces at close to 80.
That's James Dewar on bass and vocals a very talented singer
I own this album in vinyl. Still to this day this whole album is awesome
Got me excited to see this one pop up. Thank you friend. The very first album I ever bought was ROBIN TROWER LIVE in 1976.
Excellent reaction and analysis of the lyrics! I’ve been hearing this song since it was released, and never got that much from the lyrics…I think your take is spot on 👍
A tab of microdot and Robin Trower...good times
🔥🔥🔥
RT may possibly be the most underrated guitarist in history
Robin has always been a great guitarist and has so many great albums and songs. His live stuff is so good. Some more you may like are Sailing,Bluebird and Caledonia. Thanks for this!
bam!
Every song on this album is slamming good! You can't go wrong picking any of them😊😊
You enjoyed That my new brother. Hey that camera coming in and out distracting me from enjoying your joy. Takers get the honey, Givers sing the blues. You would like this entire album
That Snare and Bass Guitar......🤘🤙🔥
I saw him in a small venue in NYC when bridge of sighs came out
Meeting Robin Trower was the best thing James Dewar ever did. ''Alethea'' ''A Tale Untold'' and ''Day of the Eagle'' are three solid Trower tunes worth a listen.
BTW, as you will find out later, the real Bridge Of Sighs is in Venice, Italy. It is named that because, it was the last bridge prisoners in the Middle Ages went over on their way to the prison, and or, their execution.
By far my fav from him
I watched him play this live from about 20ft. One of the greats!
The group name is Robin Trower. From the "Bridge Of Sighs" album, with Robin Trower on guitar, James Dewar on vocals and bass and Reg Isidore on drums.
Nice that you got to Robin. Original guitarist of Procul Harem and left in the early 70s to pursue his solo career. He was heavily influenced by Jimi Hendrix who he toured with twice. He filled the gap upon Jimi's death. I have seen him 5x in Detroit and he sold out Cobo Hall all 5 times. He opened up a whole new generation to the blues. Known as the "King of the Strat" and he has taught few guitarists his string bending technique. Eddie Van Halen was one. He uses heavy gauge strings and a neck pick up to get his unique sound. It is a crime he is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
One of my favorite songs to play guitar too.
There was one guitar 3 piece band👊
There's so much funkiness in this
1 of the first Robin Trower reactions I've seen! This whole album is amazing! Also, 1 of my all-time favorite guitarists and inspiration to me as a guitarist!!! saw him live, truly amazing!
You need to listen to the title song, too!
How many songs have you ever listened to that gets better and better as reaches the end, you don't want it to end
This entire album is a sonic masterpiece.
Day Of The Eagle by Robin Trower has what in my not so humble opinion is the greatest guitar fade out ever
Trower also played in Procul Harem for a while - check it out.
We used the call him "Trower Power" for his awesome guitar work. Robin has very distinctive vocals as well.

Robin Trower rarely sings, including this track! I've seen him often in Clubs in Queens and Brooklyn. He is very approachable and doesn't mind sharing his cocaine back stage...
That would be the 3rd best track on this album no bad tracks his masterpiece
My Ford Gran Torino was singing loudly with this 8 track.
It's really great to see the younger brothers discovering blues rock, blues was considered "slave music" back when it was new and ignored by most of the black community.
I always felt like I was stoned when listening to Trower...even stone cold sober.
Trower=STRATGOD
Robin Trower was a spectacular guitarist, but you do have to give the vocalist and bass player, James Dewar, a Hell of a lot of credit for the success of Bridge of Sighs and of course this song, Too Rolling Stoned.
Really like your breakdown of the meaning of the song. You should check out some of his live vids, he plays that Strat like it's a part of him.
Timeless Vibe . Brings it .
The ultimate cruse song............I could the you a story!
Check out any other song off of "Bridge Of Sighs" and you won't be disappointed.
Robin Trower was the loudest performance i had ever heard live!

The last time we saw him (x 5), we were in the front row and one of his roadies literally came and handed out earplugs.
A little more funky,huh?
You need to check out the album just before this one, Twice Removed from Yesterday, if just for my personal favorites 'Hannah' and 'Man of the World' and 'I Can't Wait Much Longer' ✨
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I saw Trower in Chicago in 1980 I think it was. Trower’s great and he’s got a killer tone.
Check out "Little bit of Sympathy"...PURE 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Welcome to the 1970s rock n roll rabbit hole. This is a rabbit hole you wanna go down. You won't believe what you find down there, most of the best music you'll ever hear or have heard. Robin Trower and his band rocked. James Dewar did the vocals and he was really good. Robin Trower did an album with Jack Bruce who played bass with Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker in Cream - Outstanding
I've never heard anyone able to copy Trower sound and playing techniques
The Hollies - "Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress" 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
THIS album is stronger than a Russian power lifter. And this was '74. Since..... Greatness.
Why did they drop Reg Isidore.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it
