Harvested a lot of sweet potatoes, made some starch needed for half a year,
Prepped some noodles and vermicelli for this winter.
In the snowy days, have a bowl of aromatic and numbing handmade hot and sour noodles,
and have some roasted sweet potatoes after the meal.
While walking in the snow, enjoy the hot roast sweet potatoes!

Mostly ray: She’s living with her grandma in their own land. Her parents divorced when she was small then she had to live with her father and his new wife who was very cruel to her. Then the father died, she was brought up by grandparents. Time go by, she decided to leave homtown behind to find a job in the city. She was a dj for 7-8 years till her grandpa passed away and she came back to her hometown to take care of grandma. Since she was a little girl, she was taught to do many things that u watch in her videos by her grandpa, who was a chief. Thats what i have read about her. As u know she has a big love to her grandparents espeacially her granma that make me strongly admire her. What a lovely tanlented beautiful girl!

I have ocassionally seen plastic, like for covering a crock to ferment, bottle lids that seal, airlock in the beer making, gloves for washing wool (though that really isn't necessary, it can be easier) some clothes definitely look synthetic, and of course the boots. I too live very simply and close to the land and also use plastic for a few crucial things where it is just really helpful. Resuse of course.

Chickens, ducks, geese, sheep, cows, pigs, fish, shrimp, honey, silkworms, mushrooms, berries, herbs, roots, spices, flowers, running streams and waterfalls... you name it, she has it there. I can't possibly be wasteful and still survive, but I wouldn't want to be if I could. Do your best, and if things still aren't great then at least you made an effort. We never know the effect our action can have, the world is undoubtebly better on some level when people care and make an effort. If not, you will never know if things could be better.

I grew up in a similar region in China and ate similar food when I was a kid. Though I never made these things in her video by myself from the beginning to the end, I did participate in some steps as a little helper. I know how hard things could be, dirt, cold and tired. She did an excellent job not only in making these things but also in documenting the processing in such a beautiful way. Thumbs up!!!

  • @anitacouch3393

TT Zhang Not just Chinese wisdom...50-60 years back growing up in Europe, everyone either feed food scraps to the chickens, pigs, etc and had a compost box in the back yard. There was very little waste. Then the modern, educated man became to proud to continue their ancestors old fashion ways and the lacy modern way followed. Hard work and chaffed hands were looked down on. The wisdom of the parents and elderly was laughed at. Now our landfills create us problems as a result, pesticides cause health problems and kill our food pollinators, soil erosions etc.

Chinese isn't terribly hard to learn to speak, but unfortunately it's a serious pain to learn to read and write because of the complexity of the kanji and the lack of a robust phonetic alphabet (which you can always fall back on if you aren't as literate in, say, Japanese, which uses both kanji and multiple phonetic alphabets).

It is actually the same word. They're just different anglicisations based on Chinese and Japanese pronunciation (or you could consider kanji a japanisation of hanzi, but it's more like an accent than a perversion of the word). Many of the symbols are also shared between both languages, though they don't always bear the same meaning in both languages.
