The Sweetbread Show | Dinner at Julia's | Julia Child
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Julia Child coaxes crabs from the depths of the sea for her appetizer, followed by her main course of Braised Sweetbreads. A dessert of Sugarbush Maple Mousse is prepared by guest chef Bradley Odgen of The American Restaurant in Kansas City. Guest winemaker is Jack Davis of Schramsberg vineyards in Calistoga, California.
About Dinner at Julia's:
Julia Child sources fresh ingredients then prepares a special menu with a distinctly American accent. Centered around a weekly dinner party for 10 hosted in a mansion just outside Santa Barbara, Julia is joined by chefs from premiere restaurants around the country who share their techniques and specialties, plus California vintners who offer selections to pair with the evening’s dinner.

All that lovely champagne and no one spoke a toast? Easily fixed! "To absent friends." We still miss you, Julia.

Cheers to that. My late stepdad used to always toast to that and added to those with us, “May your shadow never grow less”

Julia's "candlelight supper"!
Always a joy to have Julia on for an early Saturday morning!
I'm glad to see Julia's introduction and welcome, which are oddly missing from the first show that was posted here. Thank you for bringing it back to this one!! I still miss the music from the original. It was a piano solo of "These Foolish Things", and for decades, I've thought of this show whenever I've heard that music.
🎉🎉🦀❤🎉🎉🦀❤🎉🎉🦀 Absolutely love Julia and Paul Child...❤❤❤ RIP dear loved ones 🙏🏽🌹🙏🏽🌹🙏🏽
Sweetbreads are so difficult to prepare. This was so helpful.....after all these years...I'm still learning from Julia.

Sorry darlings I can’t watch this one crab, sweetbreads 🤢. Keep them coming though.
I really don't get cooking something in ham, mirepoix, stock and wine and then gushing over the flavor. How are you tasting anything but mirepoix, wine, and stock? Just chill, slice, lightly flour and saute'.

To be fair, many people (like me) are revolted by sweetbreads and organ meats generally, so the flavorings do play a role when cooking for a group.
oh.... that kind of sweetbread... eww
