The sweet moment Prince Philip gave schoolkids a royal recess (1989)
In October 1989, during a royal visit to Singapore with Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh spoke to pupils at the United World College about the importance of protecting the earth's wildlife. The children listened so well that, afterwards, the Duke exercised his royal powers by ordering the pupils to take the rest of the day off.

Absolutely love this gentleman! When you read his life story. What an incredible life. He had a tough upbringing but was royal through and through. Could speak Danish, German, French about six different languages. My favourite royal.

@Mancunianblue In what way? I have always had great respect for Prince Philip, he was the first to discuss climate change (in the 1950's;) he was a rock for Queen Elizabeth, II; he didn't fool around on her; he was kind to children; he worked his rear off helping others; he set up several charities which have focused on technology, architecture, young people, and the environment, as well as other charities. He took on projects that were not "fashionable" or were considered "ridiculous" when he brought attention to those projects and problems. Gaffs? Yes, he had those and had them in abundance. Generally when he was trying to lighten the mood with a joke. Most of those with whom he was joking liked the jokes. The "slitty eyes" joke that had so many people up in arms? The Chinese thought it hilarious. Kind words? He had those in abundance. Short tempered at times? Yes. Not suffering fools gladly? You bet. A war hero from WWII. Although, when one heard him speak of it, answering a direct question from an interviewer, he was quite humble and brushed it off, giving others credit for pointing him in the right correction. No one is saying he was perfect or he never made mistakes or even that he could, at times, be rather pompous. Who amongst us hasn't? Evil is a strong word. I reserve that for people like Kim Jong Un, Putin, Xi Jin Ping, and others of their ilk.

@@jeannelipham2583My recently deceased uncle served under the prat in the Navy on the Ark Royal standing guard for him constantly. Phil was an obnoxious, arrogant and rude man to his "inferiors: who had to stand on guard keeping them up till the very latest philandering with women and getting intoxicated regularly. All the other officers left early having consideration for the guardsmen, the prat didn't even acknowledge them when he finally retired .He was also well known for sowing his oats in his early years of marriage on his loan tours of Africa

@@Mancunianblue and yet we’re supposed to believe the myth that the public adored him, the list of remarks he’s made to visiting dignitaries or members of the commonwealth when he’s been on tour is unbelievable, all the royalist fanboys claim it was just his quirky humour. He was a racist, misogynist and a horrible person. He tried to fire the disgraced art historian (Anthony Blunt) but he couldn’t, you can guess why. His will is secret and is closed until 2100+ similar to the Duke of York, his will remains secret also, I can’t imagine why….
Lindo e carismático sempre!❤
Guapo, elegante, inteligente príncipe alemán ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Complete nonsense. A narcissist and probably a sociopath, who thought only of himself. A serial philanderer during his marriage, who slept with anything wearing a skirt.

This man should be a source of pride for all feminists, he supported his wife in everything, always behind her.

Can you please list the things he had supported his wife? Do you mean lobbying the government to change many laws like the exemption from the environmental protection act, so they can carry on using whatever chemicals they want on their estates? Or when his wife's lawyers lobbied the government to exempt her private estates from any liability, criminal or civil? The list comes to about 2500 if I remember correctly! One can find it by using the Freedom of Information Act 2000! It is one's moral obligation to know what the royal family does. But, unfortunately, the poor worship the super rich. 😮

@E-Kat Obviously, it is not Prince Philip with whom you have problem. It is the Royal family. I am hardly poor, and I certainly don't worship and person, country, etc. I worship only God in Three Persons.
What a Bravery to face Crowd😢
What is a half holiday? 🤔
Is he wearing a tie clip?
