Yeah this was messed up for several reasons. At some point in this video, it said the doc wasn’t board certified. She didn’t stay under supervised care. She didn’t have professional care at home. The ones supposed to help her were clearly incompetent and couldn’t even listen to the dispatcher. So sad to watch all of this happening at the cost of someone’s life.

When you hire people you have to make sure they're competent. She needed a RN around the clock for at least 4days. Also she needed a higher pain medicine so she could've got out of pain without taking so many Vicodin. Vicodin does nothing for that type pain she was in.

The relationship he had with his mother was something I have never seen before especially on the documentary. He never interrupted her, he never spoke over her, he took it all in and his mother would say his name a lot which is an excellent form of communication it releases dopamine and the other feel good chemicals in the brain. This burst of excitement makes people happy and sends unconscious signals such as empathy, trust, and compassion to the unconscious brain. They were so comfortable around each other she knew all of his lyrics. Music can be so deep and it's the ultimate form of expression and he didn't feel judged by Donda and she got to know him on a completely different level which is so rare it would be like letting your parents read your journal or your deep and meaningful conversations on social media. He didn't feel judged by her and she loved them all, Donda is his number one fan! When one of them started to smile the other would contagiously. They would rap together and it was pure sunshine and happiness Hey Mama in the kitchen. I get the feeling his mother was beautiful inside and out. This special and vital relationship was just ripped away he still needed her. I feel for him so much. Kanye has a gift that he continues to share with us. I really hope that one day he will get his pure sunshine smile back.

This might just be the strangest 911 call I've ever heard in my life. Even a 6-year-old would have been able to coherently respond to the operator. The woman speaking to the operator seems like she's on drugs or like mentally incapacitated... and the people in the background not even waiting to follow instructions but just shouting random things. It just seems so bizarre that people so close to Donda wouldn't even pause to follow instructions to save her life. Every second matters when it comes to CPR and just following directions could've potentially kept her alive.

I feel so fortunate that my mom wasn’t _ANYTHING_ like these two chuckleheads when I needed CPR one time! I had the worst ever asthma attack of my life - it made me lose consciousness and stop breathing… My mom was a fucking rockstar and did CPR on me, per 911’s instructions, until the fire department first arrived on scene to take over. Only after the FD arrived did she break down and lose her shit, crying and begging her god to save me, praying with a neighbor on our front lawn (I had face planted on the driveway when I lost consciousness, so the neighbors got quite the show that day). Thanks to her not acting like a chicken with its head cut off, like the women acted in this 911 call, I didn’t suffer any brain damage and survived, despite not having regained consciousness for around 40 mins, only finally regaining consciousness when I was in the ER of a hospital (I felt like I was dying all over again when I woke up, due to still barely being able to get any air in, but luckily the ER docs eventually got me breathing decently after a lot of trial and error with diff meds). My mom hates talking about that day. It was hard to get much details out of her about what happened after I lost consciousness. She quickly changes the subject if I ever try to bring it up to get more details because it was such a scary experience for her. It was definitely very traumatic, but she did what needed to be done, and I’m so thankful for it. As we see here, it really matters who’s around to help when you need it during an emergency like this.

It’s interesting how he learned _NOTHING_ from her death though. She died because she didn’t want to put in the work to lose weight “to fit in with Hollywood.” You know, simply changing one’s diet and exercising? She wanted an easy, quick fix to look thinner, getting a massively invasive surgery done instead. Anytime _ANYONE_ gets put under general anesthesia, they are risking their lives (whether it’s from complications, or from a bad reaction to the anesthesia), so the surgery better damn well be worth that risk! It better be medically necessary, and there’s no other option! I was only a single 28 year old, but when I had to get a back surgery done at that age, I typed up my first-ever will and had it notarized after witnesses signed it, because I knew that there’s always a chance of death with major surgery under general anesthesia. What does Kanye do later on in life? He gets liposuction (that obviously wasn’t medically necessary), just like his mom did, “because he didn’t want to be called fat like Rob Kardashian was called by the press.” He also didn’t learn from the vanity error of his mother, as Kanye not only got that liposuction for himself, he had a total fit that Kim’s gym trainer said that he didn’t think it would be possible for Kim to lose anymore weight and thought she was fine at the weight she was. Kanye screamed at him that if he told the trainer to find a way to make her lose weight between her toes, the trainer needs to do that! Kim maintaining her trophy-status look was crucial to Kanye.

I'm on my local rescue squad. I'm trained in and have performed cpr. The amount of time that woman spend ignoring the dispatcher was the amount of time she had to initiate cpr if she wanted to have any chance of saving her. That's truly a shame. It sounds the way she described it however that Donda was too far gone by the time she called. However if that wasn't true, then that woman sadly wasted all the time she had to save Donda. What a shame. That being said people freak out in those situations. We ought to make the public more aware of how to handle these situations. These women are particularly irresponsible though even for people who don't know what to do, and it may have cost Donda her life.

Plus the woman on the phone may already know Donda is gone.(passed) So she trying to help the living person Also when i found my momma i was panicking and when the 911 operator said :"can you do CPR" I said :"no, because her lips are blue and its too late" And i knew my momma was gone and i was 14.

I always believed Kanya was, and still is, greatly affected by the death of his mother. Grief can last for years when a loved one dies. I would never select a surgeon who is not Board Certified to perform procedures on me. Most surgeons require EKG and other medical clearance prior to surgery for patients 40 years old and older. As a doctor, his office should have documented detailed post operative instructions and medication including but not limited to the name of the caregiver in charge of her homecare. It reminds me so much of Michael Jackson's situation when he died. I hope Kanya attended grief counseling after his mother's death. I am concerned with his emotional wellbeing. God bless him.

That was sad, man. I ain’t even a Kanye fan, but man if he heard that conversation my heart goes out to him more than it already does. I don’t think people truly understand how much a loss can mess you up. Even breakups jack people up, so death is even deeper. Truly tragic.

Unfortunately plastic surgery does not require a hospital bed be sent home when recovering. People are not educated on how serious these surgeries are. It sounds like the caller panicked. Some people can remain calm in bad situations and others panic. She seemed to be giving warning signs from the start of the video but because the care takers were not healthcare workers they didn't know the signs to look for. Doctor's need to understand that some patients truly put their lives in their hands. This sounds like classic malpractice, but I'm sure all the paperwork the patient signed before the surgery will protect the doctor from any kind of legal trouble.

Oh no one here should be mad at the caregivers on the 911 call. I know I read a few things about this surgery. First....to do a breast reduction and a tummy tuck at the same time, oh and throw in some liposuction on a 58 year old with high blood pressure is a lot of intense surgery to have done at one time. I believe that the Dr.'s (Adams) notes show he suggested breaking it up into two surgeries but Donda wanted to just "get it out of the way" in one surgery. Other plastic surgeons would have rejected the idea. Dr. Adams gave in to their wants (perhaps they offered extra pay for him...who knows?) Also her blood pressure was too high for a safe risk/free surgery. So Dr. Adams should have said "No" but he didn't, probably explaining to them the risks. Then wanting Donda to recover at home was crazy. The surgeon was against this. The surgeon told them that hospital recovery was much safer. Unfortunately, the doctor should have refused to do the surgery without requiring the patient to stay in the hospital. I have a friend who lost her mom two days after a gastric bypass surgery...at the hospital. This surgeries are not risk free.

You are aware panicking is a switch you just choose to turn on or off, right? This is why emergency workers or anyone put in high stress situations have to be trained and conditioned to be in these situations without panicking. Once panic sets in, you are hit with so much adrenaline because you're body is saying "YOU NEED TO DO SOMETHING, NOW!" This rush you feel makes it hard for you to listen and follow instructions, which is why dispatch is trying to repeat himself over and over again to get her to focus. They reacted exactly rhe same way most people react when they think someone's life is on the line. I call 911 more often than I'd like to admit and everyone is always this difficult with answering questions and following instruction. Its a whole different wold once you're actually in that situation.

I think what the doctor meant was that Dr. West was left lying flat on her back when the surgeon gave orders for her to be elevated 30 degrees. Since she was laying on her back, when she vomited she aspirated it which made her choke to death. So if she had been elevated she would not have choked when she vomited. And the fact she was left alone, nobody watching her, when she got nauseous, someone should have set her up. That's what he meant, if she was elevated 30 degrees, basically none of it would have happened. Her "care takers" had allowed her 20 Vicodin tabs in 24 hours (which is a crazy amount)which contributed to her respiratory depression which in turn, when she vomited she was pretty much out of it and was not able to respond to sit herself up. If she was sitting up, she wouldn't have aspirated. Also I read that the bandaging around her chest could have contributed to her not being able to take a deep breath, which in turn limited the amount of oxygenated blood going to heart along with respiratory depression from the medication, It was a silent storm. Bottom line, the surgery itself was not the cause of her death. It mismanagement by Dr. West, her nephew and friends. If she had stayed the night in a medical facility, they could have managed her pain as well as her nausea which would have eliminated the added burden on her system as well as being monitored continually.

@@TheNeeuqnozama I know! That's what I wondered too. Her plastic surgeon really encouraged her to stay and she said her nephew was nurse and he would take care of her. Which was not the truth because he left her and went to a baby shower and left her friends to watch her. I mean that was a big surgery. It would be one thing if money was an issue, but obviously it wasn't. Very bad decisions made by Dr. West.

I don’t see how or why the doctor was blamed for any of this. The 911 call made it clear that the two people there with Donda did everything but follow the instructions of the operator. I’m gonna go as far as to say that she would’ve survived had they followed the instructions, cause we will never know, what I will say is that she would’ve had a fighting chance to recover

She was beautiful enough. I understand why Kanye feels guilty, even though it isn’t his fault. Lucan make ANYONE feel less than. This is tragic, and the doctor should not have lost his livelihood. I also thought she passed on the surgery table. They did not have to word it like that. Him getting a DUI doesn’t mean he’s a bad surgeon. Jeez.
