Really delightful production. I had no idea the story had so much background and detail. The Pre-Raphaelites were a national treasure, as were the great 19th Century writers of Medieval English tales. What always goes unsaid, however, is how deeply erotic the story and painting are; especially this one. Well done. I know what I’ll be dreaming of tonight…

Thank you. I have always been riveted by the idea of this woman with spellbinding long hair riding through town. Matchless sensuous imagery in my mind.

My sister & I use to ride our horses in our bathing suits pretending to be Lady Godiva. One year my sister, much bolder than I, even dresses as her for a Halloween Parade. (Our mother made her a flesh toned bodysuit) I have always love this story & hearing it from a historical pov that it probably didn’t happen doesn’t diminish my feelings. Thank you so much for this wonderful piece!

Supposedly Lady Godiva is an ancestor of mine according to my mom's ancestry research. 😊

Lady Godiva was already a wealthy landowner when she married Lord Leofric and, under Anglo-Saxon law, a woman didn't have to relinquish any money or property she owned to her husband once they were married. And this fact is very important as it shows that Lady Godiva had no reason to ask her husband to lower taxes in Coventry. He didn't own the land, she did, so it makes no sense for Lady Godiva to ride naked through the streets of Coventry. It's a great story, but I think it is a myth.
