WHAT IS DISCUSSED IN THIS VIDEO
Digital Eye Strain and Computer Vision Syndrome can be difficult to treat. Computer and gaming glasses can help with eye fatigue. But we still end up staring at our screens, even with glasses on. Our blink rate decreases by 60% when we use digital devices. This can cause your tears to evaporation of the tears on the eye, which can cause dry eyes. A lot of dry eye issues can be mild, but we are finding can have more long-term issues and can cause chronic dry eyes.

    Thank you for all this information! My eye doctor just recently put me on Xiidra prescription for my dry eyes. I use Ivizia for my over the counter drops. I always try to blink frequently while on my phone or computer. I need to get back into the warm compresses. hopefully this will all help. I appreciate your videos 🙂

    I just want to add something that has helped me immensely when gaming on the tv...bias lights. I bought them from Amazon and they stick to the back of your tv screen. I have much less eye strain now because the light that comes from behind the tv reduces the adjustments my eyes make for the darkness of the room. This works for computers as well. I can now game or watch tv for quite awhile without having any noticeable eye strain. Hope it helps someone.

    @@DrEyeGuy I'd recommend them for anyone. There are fancy ones that will change colors with what's playing on your tv, but I just use white. They also need to be capable of 6500 Kelvin. The strips plug into one of the USB ports of the tv.

    I wish I had known these tips two years ago. For the last two years I developed a dry eye syndrome. First year my symptoms were just temporary, but the second year it got to next level and reached to the point I could not do my job and finally three months ago I resigned my corporate job and now watching these videos and regretting those days when I didn't appreciate my healthy eyes 😢😢😢😢

    I had a similar thing happen to me. I strongly recommend using a high quality omega 3 supplement at around 2000mg with an EPA to DHA ratio of 3 to 1. PRN makes the one I take. It takes at least 6-8 weeks to kick in. Also keep your eye lids clean by using a cleaning gel. This reduces blepharitis. Hope this helps.

    a year or two ago, I was wondering why I kept waking up with burning eyes and dry lips.. And it seem to keep getting worse and worse, I start noticing a pattern every night after spending a few hours gaming on my phone, I always wake up in the morning with burning eyes. I realize it was Digital eye strain. So I started using blue light glasses, I also lower the brightness and keep the screen further away from my face. I also suggest to stop gaming on your phone all together, try to use a bigger screen.

    That got a little intense there 5:29! One question: for nearsighted people with single vision glasses, how often do you recommend getting dedicated computer glasses? Is it more work for you eyes to do near work through distance lenses?

  • @DrEyeGuy

    @DrEyeGuy

    3 ай бұрын

    I am actually a big fan of dedicated computer glasses. It would depend on the level of nearsightedness... but if you are having eye strain, headaches, eye fatigue while looking at the computer with full time glasses.... then computer glasses could be of help.

    double/ghosting images in one eye can be from a few different things. the top possibility would be astigmatism. Best thing to get checked by your eye doctor to find out.

  • @DrEyeGuy

    @DrEyeGuy

    3 ай бұрын

    That's actually a good question. I don't know of anything that can help with that. The blue color usually comes from the darker pigmented layer underneath the sclera, called the choroid. But let me do some research and see if anything is being developed.
