Mary oversaw the "evolution" of her group and they never disappointed. So much talent here...this "lineup" finished the "legacy" in SUPREME fashion - BRAVO!!!!!!!!

Very well stated!!! Every lineup was FIRE from the 4 girl group all the way through!!! Mary did her thing holding it together AND growing it!!!

The singing was o.k. They had good stage presence. It was nice to see they had their own natural hair (NO WIGS). Let's keep it real. The original Supremes could never be duplicated.

WHEW! Ppl forget Mary got PIPES. The way she took her time on “The Way We Were” tho???? 😍😍😍😍😍😍

Until she sold out in 1977, then quickly tried to return with her own Supremes and was sued successfully by Motown who own the trademark.

That transition from "Love Child" to "Stop" is pure SHOWBIZ!

Amazing quality and sound, thanks for this. The harmonies are great, I personally don't mind the so called "Cabaret" style. The videos of the 70's Supremes are rare and usually not in good quality. I'd love to see (not just hear) the MSC lineup doing these songs. Rest in Peace Mary Wilson .

This demonstrates the phenomenal talent of the third and final lead singer of THE SUPREMES. The great SCHERRIE PAYNE who took over in mid-1973 (through recommendation of Lamont Dozier) and still today (with her group) keeps The Supremes SUPREME.

Scherrie Payne was not the third lead singer, as told by the late Ms. Mary Wilson, she was just a strong singer added to the group. The only lead singers of The Supremes were Diana Ross & Jean Terrell. I thought the same thing until Wilson sat the record straight.😵

Scherrie was NOT lead singer of The Supremes, but a vocal talent to keep the group together. Everyone thinks when a lead singer leaves (Diana Ross & Jean Terrell) leaves, that the next singer will be a lead singer, but not so, Mary Wilson wanted everyone to know that she could sing, & that she could sing lead, made Scherrie an equal on singing lead, & so the story goes until Susaye Greene came along & proved she could sing solo as well as sing background. (He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother), If anyone could sing that song better than the original singers with stronger feelings, then God bless them.🇱🇷

BS. Scherrie officially replaced Jean as LEAD SINGER. Wilson was never lead singer of The Supremes - on recommendation of Lamont Dozier because Mary’s voice wasn’t good enough. If it had been, Berry would have put her in the lead spot when Diana left. Wilsons voice had a limited range.Not commercial enough to sell records (like Diana, Jean & Scherrie - the THREE official lead singers of The Supremes).

Until her husband, Pedro Ferrer, the supposed manager, fired Cindy Birdsong, & replaced her w/Susaye Greene.

This is amazing.

A superb showcase of the final Supremes line up. The quality of this video is excellent. The vocals are stellar and of course the harmonies are on point. 3 terrific singers all taking turns on lead. Mary's talent was undervalued during the Diana Ross years. So glad I discovered this video, thanks for sharing!

Scherrie was super, but not the lead singer. In true fact, there were only two officially appointed leads in the Supremes: Jean and Diana. When Jean left, the format completely changed to an ensemble act with no appointed lead. Mary stresses the fact that she took on 50% of the leads after Jean left. Later on Mary, Scherrie, and Susaye evenly split leads.

Interesting that you’re saying scherrie wasn’t the designated 3rd lead singer, when Mary herself said in her book that she was looking for a lead singer to replace Jean and Lamont Dozier suggested his then girlfriend Scherrie Payne, which then Mary flew scherrie that same weekend to audition her at her house. Mary had already asked Cindy to return to replace Lynda Laurence which is why she was looking specifically for a lead during that time. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Glad to see a clean video from the groups later years. But lumping all those great hits into a Las Vegas showbiz medley would be a disappointment if I were in the audience. A slow version of My World is Empty Without You? Come on! Singing hits from other groups when you have lots of hits of your own makes no sense. RIP Mary.

I love the Supremes but this is a racket to me Don't like at all

This was the issue with the supremes, they were still doing the same pop focused routine of the Diana Ross era and music had changed. It was no reason why they didn’t perform their songs from start to finish. And they only performed like a couple of minutes of THEIR actual songs. This was def the most vocally talented trio but they didn’t feel like the “supremes”…They were still doing that COPA-ACT

Still Till this day, Scherrie leads her FLOS group and keeps the legacy alive 😊

If it weren't for Mary and the title of the video, I would have thought this was Three Degrees or some other group I'm not familiar with.

Those corny dance steps didn't help, but they sang very well! That said there's something missing, if you're going to sing songs led by Ross, you gotta hire Ross. This concert staging was underwhelming , if there were not dancers, they were singers and they should have sung, the Jimmy Webb album would have been better. Bit this is hindsight and it is what it was. Green was good in The Raelettes, and Payne was good in 8th day, this isn't bad it's just kinda dated by 1976.

Their harmonies in the beginning was beautiful. When they tried to do the original Supreme hits it sounded terrible. They should have sung the songs the were supposed to be sung. Great songs don't need to be jazzed up as they did here. I loved the Supremes in all of their groupings and have all their albums. I also love Diana Ross and have all of her albums. They are all SUPREME!

This group of Supremes had better singers.. I love Mary. Her resilience in spite of DAT Diana . She was class and glam till the end.

Sorry but this just doesn't work. Now look, I love the cabaret style, but all that frantic prancing, and waving and leaping and gamboling about, well it is a bit vulgar. Much of the singing is just screeching. This has got to be my least favorite post Diana Supremes lineup/

I just can’t get with this line-up, no progression, tryna relive the glory days except being innovators which is what the group was. Still doing the same pop-ish classics, they did during the copa-Diana Ross era, and they shoulda stopped!

That medley got hotter and hotter in the late 70s all the way to their last concert in 1977. The Supremes were known for their HARMONY long before they were known for any specific lead singer. The transition from "Love Child" to "Stop" is Showbiz GOLD.

Motown Groups used to KILL Showtunes with so much SOUL!!! They just MURDERED "Maybe This Time". The only thing that would have been better would have been to have Liza Minelli come out to surprise everybody for the word "Win" at the end. 😂💯💪🏾✊🏾

What bcuz they put the SOUL back in their music that Gordy made SURE was wiped clean just so that he could get White audiences to buy into their act & fall in love with them so that he could get them in places like the Copa Cabana. These women were CLASS ACTS, they were sophisticated & were able to inject what was missing from their act during the Ross years, since she has such a weak, soulless voice. So take ur garbage, bigoted statement & shove it, the 70's Supremes under Mary Wilson's guidance, management & direction. The problem they had is they couldn't keep a consistent line-up bcuz the ladies got sick & tired of Gordy's bullshit, treating them like the Motown Step-Children bcuz his 1 & ONLY focus was Ross & tell me, what exactly did her career really do after the 70s ended & she did her last hit w/Lionel Richie, NOT A DAMN THING, SO CUT THE 💩 & GO GET THOSE CLOGGED UP EARS CLEANED OUT!!!!

Bunch of stiffs in the audience. How about the guy who doesn't clap, but just nods to the guy next him in mild approval? I'm thinking that these songs and the style of the act simply do not resonate with this kind of classically-aware audience.

Lol! This is the saddest thing I ever saw. But I laughed the whole time.

They had some great songs during this post-Ross era , no need to resort to this cabaret style fodder. Susaye Greene has great vocals, just not for The Supremes.
