Gigachads pick Mallow

I ended up with Mallow as my most used party member, because I wanted to fill out as much of the monster list as possible. One of the small details you don't really notice unless you are looking for it, is that the battle music changes when you get a 5 action chain. Additional backing instruments come in seamlessly, and the music becomes more intense and pumping. Missing a command then drops it back to the regular version.

@@lazyryan3766 Sadly, only the basic versions are in the Jukebox. I just checked, comparing the Battle With a Weapon tunes. The enhanced version has maracas and bongos when at 5+ chain, but the jukebox version is missing them. I also checked if the jukebox was dynamic, remembering what your current combo is and adjusting accordingly, but it was not meant to be...

@@aleclewis4894 it will be a while before I can check the jukebox myself, but in hyrule warriors definitive edition, something that is not told to you is that you can press L/R in the jukebox to switch the state of the music. I'll press every button once I unlock the jukebox.

This game is one of the first games I remember ever watching my mom playing and playing myself not long after. I didn’t really appreciate those moments until after she passed away and I had kids of my own. Now I’m doing the entire playthrough with my toddler as the second ever game I do that with him, with the other being Mario Wonder. This game is such a magical experience that I’m glad many others will have the chance to experience themselves.

This is my favorite game of all time too. I’m really enjoying the re-make.

Nothing is more pleasing then seeing Choctopus playing his favorite game ever in a new way with all the quality of life improvements, new mechanics and gushing about them! I’m very happy for SMRPG, it doesn’t to deal with the N64 or Mario 64 coming out a couple months after it like it did back in 1996. Also THE MUSIC! I love Yoko Shimomura! She’s still got it with the music and even then, you can still change it back to the original soundtrack!

YOKO SHIMAMURA! THATS why this game sounds so much like Kingdom Hearts! I love it!

In the OG, my team was Mario/Geno/Peach. But now? Thanks to the in-battle quick-switching, any team works well for most of the game. Mallow is also a lot more useful, because of his Thought Peek skill having relevance to 100% completion.

Time for Choc to find Geno and see him be so happy as he can be during this entire lets play

You know when this game was announced I balled my eyes out and too see the little JRPG that could finally get the remake we never thought we'd get makes me so happy

I can't believe Mario is doing the Mario. Finally.

So fun the whole way through, the sense of achievement at the very end is so worth it

I played Super Mario RPG but only on the rerelease on the Wii. I didn't grow up with it. I was too poor to have an SNES as a kid. As such, extremely happy nostalgic takes like this just warm my heart.

So happy for you man. Been here since 150k and I can’t wait to see you reach 1 mil!

Finished this game in one weekend while majorly sick. First ever playthrough. 10/10 experience

26:14 i alternate my party trought the game. Mallow for some weaknessses there,geno for some bosses here, but in the end i always use mario geno and toadstool! Literally the best endgame party you can have! Mario is strong af with super suit and lazy shell weapon,geno boosts everyone and "flashes"a good amount of damage,while toadstool is invincible with lazy shell armor.

I love that Jump-element is a magic element in this game.

If I'm going to be completely honest, I had never even heard of "Super Mario RPG," until people kept bringing up "Geno for Smash." And even then, I had no idea who he was, or what he was from. I just knew that he was a Mario character. (I was born in 1997. A year after the game released.) I only learned about the character and games existance through the Mii Costume in Smash 4. (But I was glad to see it return in Ultimate. Sorry, Choc.)

Just beat it this morning. I just sat and cried while watching the end credits. This game is so good and makes me feel like a kid again.

Mallow is simply adorable 😍 Also loving the game so far, can't wait to play and experience more charm this RPG has in this remake

This is truly one of the best years for Mario.

16:02 It's moments like this that make me adore this remake and the Link's Awakening remake. It's such a small detail, but they did everything they could to bring the charm of these old games back and it's so amazing.

So far on this game, even tho I know a lot about it and have seen many parts of the original, I’ve been having a lot of fun. Loving the story and characters and the battles have been real fun. 💫

In the OG my usual team was Mario, Bowser and Geno but when bosses were around I switched bowser for Mallow until I get the lazy sherll and give it to peach and then basically my team consisted in mario, peach and Geno. However in this remake, I most of the game I went on with Mario, Bowser and Geno and stock on party healing items. Only battles where I busted out peach is with the super boss and the final boss; Unless I charged the Triple move which I changed peach for Bowser just for the LB

Ivey been loving this game and it's QoL changes. I really like that the icon shows you when to push the button, and when you start hitting it consistently it doesn't show up until you start missing it again. I think that's a neat little addition

Played for the first time, my favorite team was Mario bowser geno all speced into phys attack, they could wipe most bosses in 3 or 4 turns with proper timed attacks

I love that they're keeping the Peachs ??? Easter egg

Honestly, I've never played Super Mario RPG the original one. But I have to play in the new one. It's actually really fun. It's expressive and really fun. Have a grinding up the characters and it's pretty fun

I love how when you level up you get to pick which stat boost you want out of physical, HP, & magic! So dope & adds variety to every team and play through. (& Mallow's dance! Lol) I pretty much just go with the highest value of the three, with big damage boosts at higher priority than HP.

Choc got me crying with that opening. Great work!

Just so you know, every special with the attacks have an “excellent” and after playing it myself for the love of god make sure you get timing down and make sure the physical and special upgrades aren’t neglected, and always stock up, it’ll definitely help

My main team for most of the game was Mario, Geno, and Bowser simply because Geno and Bowser are insane and also I feel like their triple attack is the best

I love this new remake, the only thing i don't like is how "silent" the dialogues are. I mean, the dialog itself is amazing, but there isn't ANY sounds when an character says something, not even small little noises (its great dialogue, but a bit unconfortable not having any sound)

A *SMALL* detail I miss is when using Magic Powers Mario would summon like an Spade Ace symbol and Mallow would summon a Clover I think Geno was the Star Bowser the Diamond and Peach the Heart ! This Remake has been everything to me ! I hope there is a hard mode *Don't answer that* and I also can't wait for the end game boss rematches !!!

I would say switching the party around for Story points for example. Star hill is a must for Geno of ocurse.

Throughout my first playthrough, I usually Mario, Mallow and Peach. Mallow's magic is just so useful.

In the basement of the mushroom kingdom item shop in the remake is an accessory that alerts you when theres a hidden chest in the room

I love this game so much

so far my main trio is Mario-can't change, Mallow-thought peeks/ice/lightning, and peach with the lazy shell-healing/free revive if no pick-me-ups

The original was part of my childhood! This is so cool!

First time player here! I’m using Mario, Bowser, and Geno as a bit of a hyper offensive team. Though, I swap Peach in a lot during boss fights for healing, making her my primary FP user

I played it for the first time and I thought it was very good and i Hope they make more rpg like this with more levels and bigger maps. Highly recommended playing it

beat story mode yesterday-- so far my Fav team bounces between mario, peach, and geno, and mario, mallow, and bowser for the team attack. also oh my Christ? the music?? i had to stop every time i heard a new track to just Groove for a minute.

My favorite game to play is "how many times do I have yo tape the screen to get past the sponsored bit".

i absolutely love watching you man. When will you get around to playing partners in time and bowsers inside story?

I was wondering when you were gonna post this

I like using Mallow in my party for the low cost AOE Thunderbolt. Especially later on when you get the accessories that increase damage by 50%, really useful. Usually use Geno as well until I get 100% bar, then I switch in Bowser for the AOE Triple attack (since it uses the best damage of the elements it is great for a lot of enemies). Usually I only switch in Peach for healing, it kinda hurts that her only damaging special is her last one and costs so much FP. I'd use her more if the attack cost less since she has such a high special attack stat.

my favorite party is honestly Mario Bowser Geno They all just hit like a truck, and you barely need to use any FP with them unless there are 5 or more enemies.

Oh, and the Super Move hits enemies 5 times and buffs the current Battle Party, which makes them deal MORE damage.

I used that team on my Switch playthrough. They're amazing for damage output, although I'm not sure if it's feasibly possible to beat the last postgame boss without switching in Peach (since it can lock items).

Due to your editting, I don't know if you did, but make sure to check out the options settings in the menu, the control config is pretty cool. Also, for party, in the OG I went for the "optimal" geno-peach combo, but with the remake and its thought peek log that counts for 100%, I had mallow out most of the time and noticed how good he is. His high magic defense is also very good for the late-game/post-game bosses. So my team in the remake was mostly Mario/Bowser/mallow

but you have to say that bazooka line is great. "ah yes you see i didn't stop this armed person that is willing to break the law because i didn't want to fucking die" just doesn't rig as much

And once you start hitting the action commands consistently, the prompt disappears, at least, just so long as you continue to hit the action command. If you start failing the commands, the prompt reappears.
