@@gardengirl7446 it's when you casually show something off. Like flexing your muscles to that someone else can see it, but trying to make it look casual. All of this sounds super negative though and I didn't mean it in a negative way.

The soft color combinations are so soothing and peaceful. Sunken garden is magnificent.

Beautiful as always Claus. I think my favorite part is the small trees and shrubs in the middle of the yew hedge that sort of dangle over it all. And I quite like this springy color scheme.

This has to be my favorite of all your Beautiful gardens. The soft creamy yellow is soothing and creates a delicate look to each type of flower. This is where I would want to hide away with a good book.

In 2006 we moved into our current home on Vancouver Island, British Columbia - on the west coast of Canada. The following year we dug a pond, lined it with a liner, and brought in many tons of rocks to hold the liner in place and create terraced areas both within the pond and bordering it. In 2019, we drained the pond, cut out the bottom liner and a number of sections of the liner along the sides, and created a 'sunken' rock garden. This has a somewhat 'quarry-like' feel to it and I have planted ornamental strawberries and many succulents in this area. Our entire gardens are very informal and somewhat 'wild', and looking at your formal gardens and gorgeous spaces brings me peace and great pleasure. I look forward to your videos and thank you for joining the KZread community with them!

I absolutely love how this is a perfect example of how a formal garden and complete freeform container garden compliment each other. All of the pots in the same color scheme and being able to switch them out is genius. I can't wait to see the rest of your garden.

I love the formality of the structure of the space and the sense of informality of the potted plants that can be moved as you desire.

I now have a special Claus Dalby page in my gardening notebook and I record the names of the plants you describe! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful garden.

The sunken garden is so beautiful! I love the limited color pallet. It’s so peaceful. And the chartreuse plants are gorgeous. Tulip “Clause Dalby”is very beautiful and a fitting tribute to your artistry.
