Yeah as someone who just started Honkai last month and has never played any other gacha, I just kind of ignored all the Genshin drama and fandom wars since I just don't care what that other game is doing. But this is beyond just defending low rewards or bad game design, this dude spent all this time making a video to downplay crimes and harassment on top of being cringe while doing it. I know a lot of fanbases have crazy extremists, but like Tectone said, that doesn't make this one ok.

Its clear a lot of people just went with Tectone and didnt actually watch or listen to the video. Initially I assumed it would be a shill, but the guy does raise some good counter points. I say this as someone that stopped playing Genshin in 1.4 having all the issues Tectone didnt have with the game untill much later. (ofcourse, I was also not a whale like him..) Tectone has one huge issue: he doubles down on every perspective he takes, which makes his L's go all the harder too. Like in this case, because he was extremely biased towards it criticising a video he liked and thought was good, and because it was critizing him. Tectone loves to say that games should be allowed to be criticised (so they can get better) and the irony ofcourse is that he never applies that rule to himself. He should. It would make him a way better content creator. (and person!)

23:50 - 24:00 okay so fun fact: SHIFT UP Corporation, the people that develop "Goddess of Victory: Nikke" are based in South Korea. anybody who's taken time to look into a number of works that release out of that country, especially anything comic related, could probably guess why a game such as that might not have a CN server and can get away with what it does. and if it does have a CN Server, i wonder how THAT version of the game actually looks in comparison. Hoyoverse is an entirely different company based in China, a completely different country, where their laws around inappropriate content and censorship work on a different level than either South Korea or even Japan. to try and use that as a smoking gun to rebuke a point, as if saying that "because this game does it, it's fine" is the answer across the board they came up with, is ignorant, baseless, and honestly if they're implying "it comes from asia, so it's all the same" or something along those lines in terms of a defense, that's a little bit racist honestly. (i don't even play Nikke, but that took me less than 2 minutes to look into where the game was made.) hell if he were to bring up other gacha games based in china, like Punishing Grey Raven, or even games that get brought over to China and are altered, their "argument" falls even further out the window because of how many of those games have to abide by Chinese Censorship Laws. i don't believe in any way i am the only person who understands the logic. this dude is fucking gaslighting.

Knowing what ik about Honkai Impact as I have played all of part 1 and a solid chuck of part 1.5 I defo see things abit differently from those who havent't played Honkai 2 (GGZ) and Honkai 3 (HI3rd) but am trying to be open minded to its huge new concepts to the cosmology while still looking out for details where my knowledge of Honkai 3 (and to a lesser extent Honkai 2) will add insight.

for the free contact point if anyone does not get it, it's like industry standard, if the big talents sign for free, other smaller talents will think and feel as that's standard for the game and they will sign, or if a manager brings a sponsorship they get 20% cut from the big talent, smaller talents will get a prospective on what to cut is fair. when a bigger talent take a tiny deal, the smaller ones will have to agree or they will be left out. that's said I never expected that mihoyo had the right to disclose who took the deal and what they got, if that's also in the contract (mihoyo is allowed to tell others about the contract details while the talent is not), bro that's extremely shitty thing to sign.

The last few days are an eyeopener for me regarding my views on Tectone. I'll be 100% real, I was part of the "gate keeping" crowd (By which I mean I tend to pass on hot topics debating about the lows and needs of the game, I don't go out hating and bashing content creators). I was a huge follower Tectone first when the game released. I loved his videos and even stopped in to join the streams. But after his alleged branding as a "hater/saboteur", I stayed away from most of his content. But, as I stated in the beginning, these past few days completely changed my mind about his stance. It's clear he loved the game. And in fact, he still cares enough for the game that he is still taking heat from the negligent crowd to open more eyes. In the end, I respect this man. We need more like him. Willing to be real and blatant about the game. (Although, his sarcasm can be misunderstood quite some times.) Hopefully, more people can come to terms, wake up to reality and work together for the greater good.

For the cat thing, the guy explained it absolutely terribly, but I believe what he’s trying to say is that because the person has a history of already killing cats before being a Genshin player, that person’s actions of killing a cat because he hates Scaramouche is a separate issue from Genshin itself. Genshin can’t control who plays its game, which means they have no control over another person’s individual actions caused by what that individual thinks about their in-game characters. Thus, the “Genshin cat killer” is actually just “A cat killer who plays Genshin.” The killer just so happens to have Genshin’s Scaramouche as an excuse to kill a cat this time around. He could have come up with an excuse using anything, but decided to use Genshin to pin the blame on. So basically using that information is a moot point when talking about Genshin, because the incident is ultimately not a Genshin-related issue, but about a mentally-deranged cat killer who’s trying to use any excuse they can to justify killing a cat. But the person who made this video really makes no sense anyway, so I can understand why he’d absolutely tank in explaining such a thing clearly. Most of what he said is just jargon in my head. Mental gymnastics are needed to actually try and figure out what he’s talking about.

To be honest, I do enjoy genshin, especially the main storyline (not character story or event). Teccy shit on many things about the game, I agree with what he said because it's 100% absolutely true. That doesn't mean I need to hate Teccy or genshin lovers need to stand up, arguing with zero logical sense and being an idiot. You can still enjoy the game while acknowledging its mistakes, criticize to make the game better, not stupidly defending it and make a fool out of yourself

Either you just shit on and call Genshin and it's fanbase the absolute scum of the Earth and essentially worse than Hitler, or you're a white knight bootlicking Genshin stan who needs to be told how it is and made to cry or whatever. The rhetoric spewed by Tectone and his audience on a daily basic tracks far more with a group of people looking to harass and take down a game and it's fanbase for vindictive reasons a lot more than it does a concerned group of "constructive critics" that just want to see the game improve and "help them out when they won't help themselves".

Listening to that video and the points that were made, I would really like to hope it is a video just farming for views. Because honestly, most of the takes in Venture's video were really fair criticisms of the game and some people in the community. I would agree with most of them. The counterpoints almost felt circular, and in many occasions just ended back at the reason for the criticism in the first place, or just never resulted in anything logical at all. It almost felt like I was listening to a generation from GPT3.5 were the context of the discussion gets lost just after 5 paragraphs in or some shit, lol.
