The Structure of Crystalline Solids
Ғылым және технология
An introduction to crystalline solids and the simple cubic, body-centered cubic, face-centered cubic, and hexagonal close packed configurations.

*The color-coded periodic table of elements at room temperature and 1 atmosphere is intended to give a rough visual understanding. I could not locate a peer-reviewed source broad enough to be useful, so I colored this table based on the comparison of two sources that complied data. These agreed on the majority of elements. Some disagreements could be understood (such as one source counting elements with double-HCP structure as HCP and labeling certain elements as having a single structure at room temperature) but table is not an authoritative source.

oh my god this video is the medicine to all engineering caused stress disorders
You explained what my professor could not explain in 3 lectures. I really appreciate it ❤👏👏
What my professor was unable to make me understand in 3 long lectures, you just did that in 20 minutes💥
Please make more of these videos, this does such a better job of explaining the topic compared to any other resource I've used! I wish there was more for similar topics
Wow, such a nice video. Perfect explanation and you said all these in a way like you feel the difficulties students undergoes. I hope you will continue making videos
thank you! I had a really hard time figuring out the coordination numbers of the different crystal structures. Seeing it just as the number of atoms an atom in a crystal touches makes it so simple!
Just wanted to say great video, there's a clear passion and understanding for the subject here. I've watched consumed many materials on this topic and they always felt impersonal and technical. But this video strikes a great balance between informative and comedic, drawings look good too and are easy to understand. Love it.
PLEASE make more videos. Your way of teaching is fantastic.
SO this saved my life. Thank you for such an awesome informative video!
This is by far the best video on crystalline solids on KZread!
Hopefully you'll make more videos in the future because this was super helpful!
Absolutely incredible. Wow what a video
Best video around!! I love it
Thanks for the awesome video! My inorganic chem final is tomorrow and I must say this is the best video out there reviewing topic!
Oh my goodness, this helps me a lot! Thank you very much for this video!
Amazing video! Unit cells are the building blocks of solids, and this video enabled me to understand it far more than the textbook did! Everything was super clear and great visuals. Would love to see more videos!
thanks bro that lecture was really help full for understanding the structure of atom
Tremendous effort and clear as day explanation 👏 ❤

You naild it sir🫡 Please make more videos🙏
Thanks, it really cleared things out.
WONDERFUL 😊🙏🙏 AM IMPRESSED, WHERE CAN I GET MORE OF THESE VIDEOS?
I love you for producing this amazing video
Ok um.....I dont know why the actual heck you have such less subscribers but this was an extremely fun fun way of teaching and I didnt understand it much how hard I tried so thanks alot
this was so helpful thank you!
ty so much for your explanation it really helped me
First time hearing a metallurgical engineer from youtube. Yay fellow metallurgical engineer

i want to know why i understand any video in youtube better than my professor
woww so good thank youu so much for the help today is my solid state examination
Amazing video
thankk u ,great explanation
Thanks alot this is superb ❤️❤️
Amazing ❤
Thanks as a science student from India this was really very helpful but there are also some topics left like c, Location of voids , radius ratio , defects ...hope u will make video .m

One of these is in the works right now. Sorry for the delay 😅 I wasn’t going to originally make this a series but I’ve been inspired to do so.
ty so much!
Thanks for that art
no more?😢😢
Great video!
THANKS MAN
Whye there are only two more videos in your channel....😢
Just don't understand at 10:58 how you got that √3a

Let me see if I can help. Draw a right triangle where the diagonal in question is the hypotenuse. Label it x as the length we are solving for. The other arms of the triangle are known: "a" for height and "√a" for the square diagonal. Solve using the pythagorean theorem a^2 + b^2 = c^2. You fill find that a^2 +2a^2 =x^2 which then simplies to √(3a^2)=x. Thus, x=√3a.
At 16:22 it should say "FCC and HCP begin with the same base layer" not "FCC and BCC”

I’m happy to say the next one is close to being done
The worst part is having to take a materials science class as an industrial engineer for ABET accreditation reasons :(
4:30 is advice beyond any field of study
Why did i follow this and then want and begin to take notes ... play WTF am I supposed to be some sort of material scientists why am I taking interest in this ADHD plus booze got me whildin right now
can't see the forest staring at the tree. materialistic views. can't count everything. if you feel you can, count the love for your children or parents who has more. i wont believe you unless you can show me. if you cant explain it to a child you dont understand it. registration and comprehension are incommensurable.
