Great story. Reminds me of a curse in Gaelic football. It's called the curse of 51. Mayo won the all Ireland final in 1951 and on there way back to mayo they came across a funeral. The players didn't stop celebrating so the local priest put a curse on the team stating that mayo will never win another All Ireland championship till all the players at the time were dead. To this day mayo never won another all Ireland losing 9 finals from 1951 to 2019 in some cases due to strange circumstances. There are currently only 2 players left alive from that team. And mayo lose again in 2020.... And Mayo lose again in 2021...

also, in argentina, cecause of this, Racing is seen as "The Jynx". If someone wears a Racing Jersey... that's bad luck if some racing fan says something will happen, the opposite happens. There's a pretty well known argentinian meme you post before big matches which includes racing's badge, benfica's badge, Mick Jagger, a former president and a famous journalist, and more all of these accompanied by the phrase "VAMOS -insert rival team here"

Some people believe that there actually was a curse. Former goalkeeper and Liverpool legend Bruce Grobelaar "overturned" the curse by peeing on the posts on a friendly match and finally Liverpool won the league.

In Costa Rica, there is a team called Club Sport Cartaginés. In 1941 they won their third league title, making them the third team with most leagues and a power house by that time. There are two different legends, one says that the 1941 players got drunk after being champions and entered a church on horses, so the priest cursed the team to not win a league until every player was dead. The other says that someone buried some kind of voodoo doll to cursed them to not win the league again. Anyway, the club has not won a league tittle since 1941, having one of the worst droughts of football history. They have been a competitive team since then reaching at least 10 finals in the league, and even winning international throphies like the "Concachampions", but it does not matter how close they get to the throphy, it always slips.

Also, in 2013 the last living 1941 player died and in fact the club reached the final, winning the first leg 3-1. Everyone though that finally the curse was lifted and that they were champions, but they crumbled in the second leg and ended up loosing on penalties. I guess the doll curse is the one remaining then.

Awesome video. I have a curse from my local hockey team, the Toronto Maple Leafs. It's called the Barilko Curse. The Maple Leafs won their 9th Stanley Cup in 1951, their 4th in 5 years, with the series winning goal being scored by Bill Barilko, Leafs defenceman. Four months later, he goes missing in a private plane accident. The Leafs then fail to win the Stanley Cup in the next 10 seasons, finally winning the Cup in 1962, 6 weeks before the wreckage from his plane is found. But that was the least of our worries, now it's been 52 years since their last Cup.

My parents have a black cat named Kim. He likes to eat until he gets sick, and will eat anything left unattended from dinner to open bread box. I ain't seen him doing any curses though.
