Many people tell you that they're your friend You believe them You need them For what's round the river bend Make sure that you're receiving the signals they send 'Cause brother, you've only got two hands to lend Maybe there's someone who makes you weep And some nights loom up ahead When you're asleep Some days there's things on your mind you should keep Sometimes, it's tougher to look than to leap better watch out for the skin deep (Ooh-ooh) better watch out for the skin deep (Brother, watch out) watch out for the skin deep (Brother, watch out) watch out for the skin deep Better watch out for the skin deep One day, the track that you're climbing gets steep Your emotions are frayed And your nerves are starting to creep Just remember the days As long as the time that you keep Brother, you better watch out for the skin deep better watch out for the skin deep (Ooh-ooh) better watch out for the skin deep (Brother, watch out) watch out for the skin deep (Brother, watch out) watch out for the skin deep Better watch out for the skin deep watch out for the skin deep (Brother, watch out) watch out for the skin deep Better watch out for the skin deep

I remember this song being on the 'Hits' compilation album that was supposed to rival the 'Now That's What I Call Music" series. I fell in love with it then. I remember Paul Young's 'I'm Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down' and Meatloaf's 'Modern Girl' also being on it. Hugh has said Dave was nearly in tears when him and John asked him to play his keyboards in a key he wasn't happy with but they were right, whole song is class👌

A real revolutionary 😂
Most of the time the catchiest songs have a killer message.
Sooooperb , great track , wonderful-LOVE STRANGLERS 🙂👍
Unforgottable.
Remember how much I loved this in the 80,s and aGolden Brot too
A fantastic group 😊
A fantastic sound,so relaxing to hear,anywhere!

All time classic Never mind just the 80,s!!
I miss this time !!!!
Awesome band awesome songs ! All hit songs ! 👍👍👍👍👍👍🍻🍻🍻🙌🙌🙌👍👍👍🙏🙏🙌🙌🍻🍻👍
Lata 80te, Lista Przebojów w Trójce, muza, życie codzienne, wszystko czym wtedy żyliśmy... Napisałem i wydałem o tym książkę "Mój rok 1984". "Skin deep" to był jeden z moich hitów jesieni '84. Wysłuchałem tego jakieś 150 razy w ciągu miesiąca:) Zachęcam do lektury, pozdrawiam, Artur

Back in 85 I was having a really terrible trip until by chance this clip came on the TV and changed my head space entirely. For some strange reason it cheered me right up. Guess you had to be there.

YOU better believe it! Especially in Europe. Sad.
Timeless song 🎸
Tears now when I watch this, favourite track
They don't make music like this any more.
My favourite stranglers song. Great song.
The Stranglers made wonderful music. For me, it's the juxtapositon of their sometimes raucous playing and singing style, next to the relatively civilised keyboard sounds which does it every time.
i remember buying this as a single, when it came out, its one of the best ever songs written , what a cool band.. very cool video... I could watch this over & over :-)
Great musicians, great society/people critic, great humor/sarcasm and great range from punk to the cathiest of synth \m/ ♥
The Stranglers together with Hugh Cornwell were the best.
The Video is from 1984, a year of great Music!
