the Stranglers - Baroque Bordello (live No Nukes)
Музыка
Recorded live at the No Nukes festival in Utrecht, the Netherlands on april 9, 1982. Baroque Bordello is a track from the 1979 album "the Raven". Great song and it shows why JJ Burnel is my all time favorite bassplayer and the inspiration for me to start on the bass.

This song is amazing. No one is playing the same thing.
"Let's make the most complicated song we can." Tick. This tune has always mesmerised me.

C'est ma préférée ❤ C'est pour moi, la meilleure intro que j'ai entendue...
Just listen to Hugh's clever guitar work in this. Baz Warne going round telling everyone that being the guitarist in the Stranlgers is easy. Yes? Tha'ts because this man did all the work for you mate.

I read an interview where Baz Warne was saying quite the opposite and that it wasn't until he joined The Stranglers that he began to appreciate just how intricate and unique Cornwell's guitar playing was.

@@MisAnnThorpe True. He never said it was easy. I like how he described Hugh's guitar playing
The Stranglers one of the best band died when they lost Hugh's voice and his original guitar riff

Incredible amazing song, just like nothing on earth ;)
The new Stranglers better be thankful there was a Hugh, and The Stranglers were so great. Nothing will EVER even come close to the original true MENINBLACK!!
Great performance. One of the best live mixes I've heard from The Stranglers. Certainly the best I've heard Cornwell's guitar mixed on stage.
Sweet Dave at his best here.... as is high kicking intricate bass line playing JJ, tub thumping tight as Jet & l love Hughs eclectic spider web guitar work and vocals on this oft forgot and unappreciated masterpiece.
April 9th 1982, my first ever strangs gig! Brilliant! Some 40 more gigs followed for me, roll on 2010 tour!
classic stranglers, the raven was a superb album, one of my favourites, ratus norvegicus still top album, i would say; h1v
Amazing song! Shades of Beef heart int he comp[lex rhythms
Nice to see some of this concert back. A highlight that day. By the way, it was on the 9th of april 1982.
You're so right! What was I thinking - I must have played that record hundreds of times.
Best album.
This is great. For me the band started getting a bit spottier on their albums starting with Gospel According To The MenInBlack, and as much as I love the first few records, The Raven album was their best all around. The Stranglers were about as genius as the era got. Thanks.
