I have a strange good samaritan story that happened years ago. I ended my shift and I began to pull out of the parking lot in the late afternoon. A man in his mid-late 40's stopped me in the front corner of the driver side and asked to roll down the window. Being paranoid, I rolled down the driver window 1 inch and asked how I could help. The man asked me if I could let him borrow some money for a few days to rent a hotel room and food for him, his wife and 2-3 kids. I had a few dollars and so I asked him, how much? The man said, just $1,200 and some change. I told him, sir I can't do that since I have rent and to provide for my own family and kid. Then the heart breaker came... he asked if I was a Christian and believed in God/Jesus. He started weeping about how he was kicked out by his landlord due to his inability to pay rent because he had lost his job, and that his family was staying at relatives' home. His weeping turned in sobbing... So I told him, sir, I can't give you that amount of money, but if you stand here and wait, then I can go buy some food from McDonald's for you and your family. I rolled up my window and started driving towards McDonald's, but as I did, the man left and walked away. I reviewed my dash camera, but he stood in the blindspot, so the video only captured audio.
