I can’t cope with how fucking great it is. first of, even since i see you expressing the desire of not going far from the storyboard and make too much of an animation it’s still SUCH AN IMMENSE AMOUNT OF WORK?????? Like it’s a whole short animated film for me, you are so cool for this!!!!! second, please, this is just GORGEOUS. the ed going through the smoke frame has me in chokehold, stede holding him under the rain, ed crushing stede’s things, the FRAMING ITSELF IS INSANELY GORGEOUS!!!!! also the fact that you added plot points here AS S2 WAS AIRING??? THE SPEED??? I could never. the coloring as well, it being black and white doesn’t make it any less huge, it’s SUCH A BIG WORK🥹🥹🥹 i’m so grateful that i saw this masterpiece honestly, it’s so many things all at once but first and foremost for me it’s 💞cinema💞 and i’m aspired to do what you did here. the plot itself with ed going through the jungle in his head and memories for then finally *finally* see stede again? it’s so good structurally and in a storytelling style way because his struggle is built visually and through the song so well it feels palpable🥹 Also i just love the way you stylised ed and stede and the crew. I think you found a perfect balance of them being cartoony and recognizable and still being *them*, which is also SO COOL All in all, it’s a masterpiece, you’re a genius, big consensual smooches to your brain AND your hands bc i really hope you didn’t overwork yourself with this (it really is an insane amount of work imo), hope you’ll see my work as well sometime hehehehe i love it to the moon and back a thousand times, will rewatch it on a daily basis when i feel like animation industry is dying, also hope you’re okay after s2 shkshshhs okay, that’s it x x x!!!!

Hi Shonya! Thank you for such a heartfelt and thoughtful compliment! It was a lot of work but... I do this as my job so over the years I've gotten fast and this was something that I was very passionate about doing and I also really wanted to get it done before the finale finished! So I sort of treated it like a job for about a week. (As you know the animation industry is pretty messed up right now so I was not working on an actual job when I made this.) Ed going through the smoke was definitely one of the first ideas I had for this, I'm not sure why haha. Thank you for calling it cinema, I wanted it to feel good like that, thanks! I feel like the lighting/shading was necessary to get the drama and ambiance I wanted so it was worth it! The plot sort of was built from the song but also somewhat accidentally, like it just happened while I was working on the first thumbnail pass and then my friend noticed it and then I pushed that concept from there. Speaking of, you may find it interesting to see the thumbnail version, that's also up on my channel. I was concerned about picking "models" for them as professionally that's what I would do... and whether they would look like them, but then in the end I just said F it and just did it by the seat of my pants. I think the result feels more emotional for it. I have mixed feelings about the animation industry right now. I seldom get to make things I really love. so this was me making something I loved. I'm hopeful that this is just a bad time and that things will come around, because I really believe that animation is a beautiful art form which moves people, and surely THAT cannot die. (And I loved S2). I have seen your work! I really liked "From Now On". What I liked best was that you have some beautiful camera moves where there camera is spinning around Stede and things are changing around him, lovely transitions, etc. It feels great with the song! I loved the :08 area, 0:22 them all running together, 0:26, the camera moving around stede, etc. Keep making beautiful things!

This animation is a true labour of love to the show and our boys, it manages to encapsulate their relationship in such a beautiful way with the choice of visuals and song it's genuinely made me cry, thank you🥹❤️🖤

ok!ok! this takes the cake ok for the thing im going to rewatch for a bajillion months. ugh where to begin the movement and fluidity in this is tangible the moments where ed goes soft - either in front of stede or after a breakdown, the camera angles and the way it moves along with the characters, the song choice. this is really such fuel for inspiration and makes me so excited to create more stuff for after the season. ahhh freaking well done

Thankyou! I definitely wanted to show how most people see him as hard but with stede or alone, he’s more. Storyboard is my job so this was a fun thing to do instead of my usual work.

The way Ed looked at him at the piano made me say AWWWWWWWW so loud.

Beautiful animation. And I like how it doesn’t stick rigidly to the show, but expresses your own interpretation.

Your artwork is absolutely incredible! It’s to expressive and you draw Ed and Stede so well!! And even though it’s not animated you draw Ed’s robe flowing in the wind it’s incredible
