I had a gut feeling when I watched the show that he had yet to come out publicly. I think what he did was very brave and I'm very glad he did it.

Of our lives I could tell this talk was so inspiring to me I was 77 years old but I learned so much from this very handsome young man I wish I would love to personally talk with him sometime to tell him how much he inspired me to leave who I am what I am

About two years ago, I was at a service at my synagogue, in a very informal setting, where everyone was supposed to sing with the Rabbi. All of my life, I've been told I was a lousy singer, and I had internalized that to the point where I made that criticism as a joke before anyone else could. And at that service, I made that joke, expecting the usual mild chuckles. But that day the Rabbi said "Stop. First off, you are not that bad, and second, I spend so much time counseling people who put themselves down because they can't or don't do this or that.... and don't recognize the gifts that God has given to them. All of you, stop putting yourselves down, and acknowledge your God given gifts." Juan just told me the same thing..... many thanks....

Thank you for sharing these words. I am so thankful they were preserved in video and I came across them because no truer words have been spoken. It’s a tough and long road to silence the critic within especially when it is supported by the external critics that play in our lives.
