I love how all of this happens nearly annually. One year an army of demons invades, the next year An old king of the dead wants to destroy the world, then a giant fire dragon awakes and tries to destroy the world, then a whole new fucking continent appears with a bunch of pandas on it, then a bunch of time traveling orcs comes to destroy the world, then next year, oh look, the giant demon army is back. Azeroth never gets a break.

It's funny that Azeroth was said to be PEACEFUL before the events of Warcraft 1. Suddenly, an Orc army invades and the shitshow never stopped anymore.

Why does warcraft just give me so many chills. Too many goosebumps.

Y'know.. I just noticed something from watching this video. The Bronze Dragonflight have been in every single expansion so far. Like in Vanilla you got the Brood of Norzdomu, and their war against the Silithid and Ahn'Quiraj. TBC you had to help them fight back the Infinite Dragonflight, They had quests for them in Wrymrest Accord and doing the Culling of Stratholme, In Cata we needed their aid to fight back Deathwing and the remaining Twilight Cultists, MoP there was the Timeless Isle along with Kairozdormu, and in WoD we had to stop a time anomaly in Nagrand for the Legendary Ring quest by defeating Kairoz's "ghost". Bronze Dragons everywhere.. whoooo....

I still get chills when I hear "4 months since the mortal races banded together...", first cinematic was real epic.

This was freaking awesome!! So well explained, illustrated and edited. 10/10 for Nobbel! Thank you. Also mad me even MORE hype for Legion!!

Thanks for this! I recently got back into WoW after an almost 4 year long hiatus (having a baby will do that, I guess, haha), so this was super helpful in catching me up. I was never really into the lore of the game even back when I played, but after watching this, I've become fascinated by it. I think I'll be spending the next few days watching through your lore playlists. Thanks for putting so much time into these! They are really well explained.

Man, this Legion cutscene... it is so good, it always gets me.

Those videos are awesome. I started playing WoW at it's release and it was the first online game I've ever played after Diablo 2. I have a lot of emotions connected to it, but sadly I was pretty young back then and I didn't care for lvl'ing or the story at all. I've stopped for a few years now and I really wanna start playing WoW again but it would be so much better if I at least understand the lore. So thank you for those videos

Grom's theme was one of the (unfortunately few) great things to come from WoD. It playing through the intro cinematic really pushes the WoD cinematic to the top of the list for me. Furthermore, whenever my guild would kill Fel Lord Zakuun there was a decent chance that the climax of the song would be playing as he dies, and that just simply steals the show as one of my favorite WoW moments consistently.

My g/f and her sister went with my me and my brother to see the movie and they immediately fell in love with the Lore and I told them to just watch your videos. You do so well explaining what exactly is happening so far. I have one comment about this video. When you have CC on you are unable to see any video text at the bottom of the screen when not in full screen. MoP is my favorite cinematic. The MoP cinematic really captures that "adventurer" feeling. BC, WoTLK Cata, Wod, and Legion all have the same tired troupes, "here's a new big bad we have to stop."

In Hyjal when you do those quests for the Satyr, in his quest text somewhere it says that your actions in Outland were over a decade ago. The years between expansions would be larger, I think.

Well... Wrathion warned us about the legion, that it would return, but didn't he aid in it's return? I mean the only reason they got to Azeroth again is because of Gul'Dan, and if Wrathion wouldn't help in Garrosh's escape to Draenor there would be no Gul'dan to open the portal for them... or am I missing something? Because it seems that Wrathion caused the invasion.

to be fair he did let Garrosh out as an attempt to bring more orcs or draenei or something to azeroth to prepare for the legion. i mean i would feel better if i were fighting the legion with orgrim and 2nd velen and Grommash. but sadly we got warlords or draenor.

lol soo, after leaving wow for good, your video has gone and got me wanting to go back ... that nostalgia man ... im going to wait before purchasing the next expansion. if it gets some positive reviews ill sub for a month and run through the storyline (broken isles sound awesome tbh) but i doubt i could trust to buy the new expansion out right ...and while id have a lot of content to go back to since i left rather quickly after draenor, i still doubt i want to go back right now

For me, Legion opens 2 important events: -Jaina, becoming incresingly angry at the Alliance and everyone she considers her allies, opening to an enemy she blames the cause of all problem in Azeroth. What if she becomes also everyone's enemy? -King Anduin, a more pacific and diplomatic king, has ascended to the throne, bringing what could be a new era of cooperation against the enemies of Azeroth.

HI nobbel, i really enjoy your videos about the lore but i need to point you a mistake :p There is a quest somewhere in westfall that points the cataclysm events to be 2 years after Arthas defeat. So Cataclysm should be year 29/30. Keep going your excelent work mate! May the light guide you on your quest fellow paladin!

I could have sworn that Wrath took longer than 2 years after original WoW, and that there were quests that referenced that time difference during the Death Knight starter quests, and that Cataclysm took place a couple of years after the events in Ruby Sanctum.

Maybe we'll finally see an Alliance-oriented expansion, although Sylvanas looks pretty cool too. I'm down for the Forsaken as well :)

I think it is incorrect time period between expancions, one year sound like really quick period, for example Anduin in classic was a boy between 6-12 years and in Legion he is about 21 years

This is so nostalgic, venturing tru the dark portal for the 1st time 2hrs after the realease of the expansion, so many people on both sides of the portal xD the WoD launch was nothing compared to Hellfire in TBC.
