Der Struwwelpeter ("shock-headed Peter" or "Shaggy Peter") is an 1845 German children's book by Heinrich Hoffmann. It comprises ten illustrated and rhymed stories, mostly about children. Each has a clear moral that demonstrates the disastrous consequences of misbehavior in an exaggerated way.
Die Geschichte vom bösen Friederich ("The Story of Wicked Frederick"): A violent boy terrorizes animals and people. Eventually, he is bitten by a dog, who goes on to eat the boy's food while Frederick is bedridden. In this video, I retell the story for absolute beginners in German.

Learn German the natural way with comprehensible easy German!
In the classroom we are told to endlessly study grammar and memorise concepts, however, research shows that language is acquired through authentic experiences. The concept of Natürlich German is based on Dr. Stephen Krashen's second language acquisition theory, in which one uses comprehensible input to acquire a language, rather than 'learn' it.
More on comprehensible input:

This video is worth like 20 lessons in most language learning apps. I'm learning that learning vocabulary and listening to stories is pointless without context and repetition. You do a fantastic job of repeating words and miming them so we understand the context. Thanks you for this!

Wow. This is such a good way to learn German. I've watched videos of German children's stories but the way you read them is like you're reading it to an actual child that doesn't know what all the words mean.

I had this book as a child, handed down by my godmother. I was always frightened of it, even as an adult I could not open it and did not like even to touch it - so it just stayed in the cupboard with my other childhood books for many years. I only got up the courage to throw it out when I was 40 and had my own little girl - I wasn't going to let this book anywhere near her!

This is the first time I've seen your channel and I'm absolutely delighted! It would be wonderful if in your description you put a link for somebody to purchase the book! Because this is a storybook I would love to own and I would also love to have it in my hands while watching your video and looking at the things up close. Perhaps it could be another revenue stream for you? But regardless I would love it if it were linked to the book so that I could buy a copy 🙏🏻 And your facial expression and your pronunciation is amazing! Your speed is perfect. 35 to 40 years ago I was fluent in German and I have forgotten most of it but I believe that it is still in my head someplace... Nearly listening to this while watching you and by the end I could understand about a third of the words! I wish I had an 8-hour long video of you reading things that I could listen to while I sleep because I think it would trigger all of those memories to come back to the surface 😂 Thank you for what you are doing!
