Thanks for keeping Lou Rawls in our ears! I felt so proud to work at WGN! I think it contributed to a lot of my growth and good taste.

I still remember the words to that Lou Rawls jingle..a classic. Chicago will always be my sweet home.

Mike Lowe is a treasure. Great interesting piece explaining the slogan Chicago’s Very Own. Years ago WGN radio ran a commercial with a woman stating “When I say I heard it on the radio, I mean WGN.” I always thought that was real…Wally, Eddie, Bob Collins, Spike, Floyd Brown, etc. WGN is a legacy brand, the OG.

This is one hell of an amazing series thus far.

And rightfully so. 👍 They made it their own officially with a federal registration for the slogan with the US Patent and Trademark Office. 🌎 It just makes my years studying computer science in Aurora, IL feel a lot more special. 💻❤☺ Happy Anniversary to Chicago's Very Own!

@WGN News I am hopeful that the station will do a segment on some of the technological advancements that have taken place over the last seven and a half decades. Your attempt to enter FM broadcasting.... WGNB. Some of the great engineering minds that you have produced..... Paul Crum, Roy and Ron Cone, etc. Having Orion Samuelson file a report via satellite. Your 50000 watt powerhouse AM station that can be heard around the world given the right conditions. A lot of great stories to be told.
