The Story of the Hejin City Fortress

Ойын-сауық

Discovering the Mysterious Hejin City Fortress: A Journey into the Unknown
In November 2023, I stumbled upon an article about a virtually unknown ancient site that captured my imagination - a place that seemed to defy explanation with what appeared to be a floating door on a flat-topped mountain. This enigmatic site, located in Hejin City, Shanxi Province, China, sparked a viral sensation with its blend of natural and man-made mysteries. Despite its sudden fame, the fortress vanished from the limelight as quickly as it appeared, leaving many questions unanswered.
The original article on the Hejin City Fortress can be found here thebrainchamber.com/mysteriou...
Sourced from k.sina.cn/article_1414949760_...
Determined to uncover the secrets of this ancient fortress, I embarked on a meticulous quest to learn more about this elusive site. My initial research led me to various names like ‘Longmen Fortress’ and ‘Wiezhaung Village Castle,’ with some even dubbing it a ‘Nephilim Hideout.’ However, none seemed officially recognized, prompting me to name it the Hejin City Fortress.
The lack of information only fueled my curiosity further, driving me to explore other undocumented ancient sites in China, such as the Jiulong Cliff Tombs thebrainchamber.com/jiulong-c... - This journey brought me to Upwork, where I hired Jihao, a local enthusiast eager to explore these hidden treasures. Together, we began documenting these sites, sharing our findings with a growing audience intrigued by the potential suppression of Chinese historical sites by local authorities.
Jihao's adventurous spirit led him to Hejin City, where he faced the challenges of a recent rainfall that made the terrain near the fortress treacherous. Despite these obstacles, a local guide helped Jihao navigate an alternative path to the fortress, revealing its strategic use in ancient times to fend off bandits through a single, defensible entrance.
This tactical design, creating a choke point, was a common defensive strategy in ancient fortifications. The local guide's account matched historical tactics used in the region, adding credibility to the fortress's purported military purpose. However, despite new articles and videos, the site remains shrouded in mystery, with no official archaeological studies or recognition.
Our continued exploration led us inside the fortress, where the challenging terrain and strategic design were evident. The fortress's architecture suggested it was built to be a formidable barrier against invaders, with steep slopes and a single entrance that would have made any attack difficult.
Further investigations revealed potential cave dwellings that could have sheltered locals and their livestock during sieges, hinting at a well-planned settlement capable of enduring prolonged conflicts. The fortress's top, possibly used for agriculture due to the fertile loess soil, also suggested a self-sustaining community prepared for isolation during wartime.
Despite these findings, the true age and origin of the Hejin City Fortress remain a mystery. Historical records suggest that fortifications have been a part of Chinese military strategy for thousands of years, but without concrete archaeological evidence, the exact timeline of this fortress is speculative at best.
As we delve deeper into the footage and historical context, the Hejin City Fortress continues to pose more questions than answers. Was this site purely a military fortress, or did it serve a greater purpose in the ancient landscape of China? The lack of official recognition and study leaves us pondering about the untold stories hidden within its walls.
Join me as we continue to unravel the mysteries of the Hejin City Fortress. What secrets do you think lie within? Share your thoughts and theories in the comments below, and don't forget to like, share, and subscribe for more updates on this fascinating journey into the past!

This structure was built out of brick by the Tartars. It was hit with white phosphorus munitions until it looks like a mud-brick structure. White phosphorus doesnt get hot enough to melt the granite arch. This was an early fortification that the Tartars used to defend against the invading Han. As the war between the Tartars and Han drew on, the Han made major advances into Tartar territory, requiring the construction of what we call the Great Walls of CHina. The gates in the walls open from the North, and as you travel north from China into Russia, the Walls get younger and younger dating. The reason why there are so many walls - all generally facing east to west, and going out in concentric rings around what? The center of Han civilization

@@andreg1165 I can't give you a complete answer, because I don't know. It seems the Han had a rapidly expanding population, and they ended up fighting with other peoples whom we now consider "Chinese." They ended up becoming dominant culturally and with population, and they sought to expand Han dynasty northward, but those areas were already Tarter for a long time, so the struggle.

Perhaps it's just pixelation in the video, or even "pareidolia", but it looks as though there are also a number of petroglyphs on many of the rocky hillsides in the valley. I can make out two of what appears to be "trident" shaped ones, and few human shapes. It also looks like there are numerous cave openings throughout the valley walls, as well as perfectly circular sinkholes throughout the valley floors. Again, could be either of the above, or my reading glasses may need an upgrade, lol. This site has fascinated me ever since I learned of it through your channel. I'm even more impressed and fascinated by it after watching this video however. Thank you so very much for all of the time and devotion to your research you've dedicated to bring us these amazing captures.

It doesn't look like a fort to me, the gate is not fortified, there is no other defensive structure or building standing, its far from towns or farming areas where people live, there is no access to water, etc. Visibility is also poor, it doesn't look like it's anywhere of interest overlooking a valley or trade route. For me its more like a Zoroastrian style cemetery, where the bodies are placed for the birds to devour. It could also have remains of temples, offerings or cremations.

It's odd... the ancient Chinese created some amazing things... amd definitely were capable of creating this... but the architecture of the gate doesn't look Chinese to me... the arch looks more like medieval Islamic or European Architecture... very strange... I do know the Chinese government actively hides any evidence that shows the presence of non Chinese civilization within their current borders... could it be an old structure repurpposed by Chinese?... very unique structure... I hope more comes out about it.

Its definitely a defensive fortification, for a short period of time anyway, no water source. It reminds me of a bronze age hill fort from Britain, so could have been used for thousands of years. The only reason to build a brick entrance would be to support a gate.

Absolutely fascinating! Thanks for your efforts. If I imagine living in or on this fortress with a group of people for protection I would have used the main entrance as a faux entrance and put an openable watertight closure near the bricked entrance to let it fill up with rain water. This way there would be a pool of water on the top of the structure for the use of the inhabitants. At the same time by partly opening up the watertight closure at the bottom, it would be possible to flush out any would-be assailers without even having to fight them in combat. From the top of the structure a series of wooden planks attached to ropes could be lowered down to form a passage to the side entrance, in order to let the inhabitants an allies in. The huge boulder could possibly be used to block even that entrance when positioned vertically (and to disguise it), but allow access to the structure when laying down horizontally... if it were at all feasable to move such a heavy boulder from a standing to a reclining position.

Whoever did the editing on this video needs to stop transitioning every 3/12 seconds like a fever dream on acid. Couldn’t make it through.

Why do you start your video saying you discovered something, but a minute later are sounding as if you have never been there? This is very confusing. It would be helpful to viewers who have no idea about you to know who you are or what you do... I suspect the voiceover is not your voice, so makes it even harder to understand what you mean by "I".
