NYC 1 that’s not what I meant. That team was absolutely stacked with amazing moments. But having a yearly anniversary special is kind of sad. Most people in their 20’s and even 30’s aren’t going to have the biggest connection with that team. If this rebuild doesn’t pan out(it should), at least 1994 doesn’t have the same ring as 1940 lol

Kush Royal I get it. I wish fans that weren’t old enough to remember it could get the feeling we got. It was magical and remember we had to suffer through the Islanders dynasty’s. The game has changed and the Islanders have been mostly bad your life but those games were intense.

As a rangers fan this was the height of hockey for me, so much talent league wide.

The 1994 Vancouver Canucks are the most criminally and underseeded team in NHL history. Like they legit win the Stanley Cup in any one of ten years of either side of these finals

Absolutely! I tip my cap to the 1994 Vancouver Canucks. An extraordinary great team loaded with talent. I'm so happy the Rangers beat them but it did not come easy. Much respect to them.

Thank you Again Messier! This team still gives me the chills !

I remember this like yesterday. What a great moment after so many tough years and hearing 1940. That was the first time I ever heard Matteau speak English. He used to do all his interviews in French. Lol

Met Matteau in 2004 during the lockdown and we were talking with Rod Gilbert and we were listening to Rod’s stories about his career

Awesome memory and accomplishment. One of the most memorable moments to ever happen in hockey history.

I watched this documentary last night on the NHL Network and it took me back to 2018 when the Washington Capitals won the Stanley Cup.

As a lifelong kid from Boston and a fan I hate New York especially when they won a championship the especially the Yankees in the 90s but I always will have a sweet spot for the 94 Rangers thanks to them my next door neighbor Brian Noonan who is on the team got to bring home the Stanley Cup my Hometown South Boston Massachusetts and we had an all-day special it was great right out my font of my building I got to kiss it touch it and take pictures with it I'll never forget that

Growing up as a kid in Chicago and a die hard Bulls fan, Jordan retired and we got eliminated by the Knicks in the playoffs in 94. I was crushed- I never watched hockey in my life, but I followed this playoff run with the same intensity as the Bulls. What a magical time.

Now the foundation has been built for the next one. LGR

Give it another 30 years it’ll happen

My earliest memories as a child are watching Rangers games with my dad as. 4 year old. That was 1970. I watched the Boston Bruins beat the Rangers in 6 games in 1972. Then I watched the Montreal Canadiens beat the Rangers in 5 games in 1979. The Loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1992 was devastating. I f said to myself after that loss, the Rangers will never win a cup. Winning the 1994 Stanley Cup was one of the most surreal feelings I have ever experienced. I was 28 years old then, with my whole life ahead of me. I’m 56 years old now and watching this brought tears to my eyes. All those emotions came back and I will always cherish this Stanly Cup.

The Rangers are like know other. LETSSSS GOOOOOO

I started watching the Rangers in1976, watched them win in1994, it was so amazing 🤩 been waiting for that Stanley cup in "our" hands again 💯🔥💯🙌

Being an original team and only winning 4 championships I as a Rangers fan still think that they are cursed. It’s just mind boggling how they don’t win more than you have these brand new teams winning and winning. Let’s go Rangers win it this year.

Penguins fan here. I’ve read/heard that the whole Rangers/Devils series was amazing. Would love to see video of all of the games someday.

The only time the Islanders won a Stanley Cup is quite revered, their dynasty is the only time they went to the Stanley Cup Finals and won a Stanley Cup.

I really wish Vanbiesbrouck had been a part of this. He was my hockey idol growing up.. Even though Im from Boston, the Rangers will forever be my team. I been a Ranger fan since 1987. Them winning the cup right around my HS graduation was the greatest gift ever..

Definitely besides my daughter being born the best day of my life... NYR FAN 4-EVER I commented before I watched the video and I had to come back and tell you that I still get the goosebumps like I did that night ... Also one of the best Stanley cup finals series ever both teams....

I live near West Haven CT and there’s this giant 20 foot tall Stanley cup behind a factory on a road I often drive through. It’s been there for a decade and I’ve always wondered if it was used at a parade in New York after we won.

Good role player. He played mostly on the 4th line with Joey Kocur and Sergei Nemchinov. He won w the Islanders also.

Amd now "the curse" is on the Toronto Maple Leafs. No Stanley Cup (or even a final) since 1967.... 55 years and counting....

Thats why MM is the goat for me. Stats dont count if you cant win it all. Thank you.

In the Spring of 93, Mike Keenan made a monumental mistake in Choosing to Coach the Rangers over an Eric Lindros Flyers team. It likely would have been more than one Stanley Cup for Keenan, of course So much more than a one year stint. But Mike was astonished, and captivated by the bright lights of Broadway rather than returning home to Philly, whare he had So much success and make Eric Lindros the great player and Superstar he could been. Keenans Career suffered because of it.

I remember as a kid back in the 90s it seemed like every other VHS the NHL put out had a segment on the 94 rangers and what a great historic moment it was for them, etc etc... ...the wait back then was 54 years...now it's already almost been another 30 years since... I guess it's a good thing that one lasted a lifetime...because it might have to!

I played in my HS hockey team and we had a great season this year too.. we were a new team and almost lost every game haha but this year we had a good year.. growing up in NY this was my team too!! Great year. I was 14 years old. Also had my first REAL gf too.. haha. And we swept the islanders

That was all that year everyone talked about was let the curse be over it’s a long of a wait 50 long years thay did it everyone was on the edge of there sit in game 7 that year we thought chunks was going to win but rangers held on and won I want to see rangers win the Stanley cup and see the reaction of the 1994 rangers

That was the best year for the rangers that was best Stanley cup finales went to game seven the rangers will win next year or year after thsy are building a 1994 team again thay was close this year but Tampa took them this year rangers teams young I think thay will make the finales next season or after I want see them win again it’s been 28 years now rangers are do to win again reliven 1994 was amazing year for the rangers I worked in nyc that year I went to the victory persde it was amazing nyc that was the year of mlb strike so there was no baseball no World Series I want see 1994 again for the rangers

@@dannythomas417 Overall, Keenan was a very good coach. His body of work speaks for itself. Quinn was also a very good coach. His 1994 Vancouver team was dam good. I'm a big-time Rangers fan but I tip my cap to the 1994 Canucks. They had one heck of a team.

Canucks were an extremely underrated team that year, when they got Courtnall, Brown, Momesso and Ronning to compliment Bure, Linden and McLean, that team was the real deal. Rangers were just too good in the end, but their cockiness was almost their undoing. Best series of all time!

my mom's brother ran a photo store and guy came in the day of Game 7 with a MSG press pass for the game and asked him to make a copy, so he made a copy & two extra for himself and my dad. they got split up and just tried to pretend they were supposed to be there/were wandering around until someone told them where the press elevator was. they got to witness Game 7 & the Rangers finally win the Cup from press area for free lol RIP my dad let's go Rangers 2022 is gonna be the year

Because the Tampa Bay Lightning are the TWO-TIME defending Stanley Cup Champions and Vancouver wasn't, so it wouldn't have mattered. PLUS, our TBL are THEE current dynasty in the NHL. No denying that.
