@@TMPK How is Jack? I wanted to share that I am a licensed psychotherapist and I specialize in 0-5 attachment. I see kids of all ages and their families but I just wanted to share information that I give to the new moms I work with. I am sure you know this, but for what it is worth....Give Jack as much cuddling, face to face contact. Chest to chest. If you get one of the back pack type carriers always get the one where Jack faces you. Or mom. Babies cry for a reason, hungry. Wet, tummy ache or just needs touch and comfort. They are bonding and figuring out if the world is a safe place. So when they cry you change or feed or just comfort. He is too young to cry himself to sleep. It is scary and they need that comfort and soothing. Rock him to sleep, sing or talk gently to allow him to peacefully fall asleep When he starts on a bottle hold him close, talk to him soothingly, touch his hands arms and face look into his eyes and he will explore your face getting to know you bond with you. I know mom is breast feeding and that is the best for Jack. Mom can do all the same bonding activities. Avoid distractions like tv or talking on the phone. The attachment started when he was in mommy's tummy and it continues as he develops and grows. He will be independent, he will have a good self esteem. He will be adventures, smart, loving and sure of himself and know his mom and dad will protect him and.his world is a safe place. Happy bonding ❤️

Congratulations 😊 you guys are Blessed we had no camera no cellphone. No car seat( too poor to buy one) and left in an old rattle trap car with black smoke coming out of the tail pipes!! This was back in 1971. Cleaned out a dresser draw where Angela slept until she grew out it!! Had to hit the Thrifts stories success!!! 5 yrs later Adam came along when Angela was headed for kindergarten. Had to walk Angel to kinder garden and carry Adam. No more kids Angela is RN Nurse and Adam is Retired from United States Navy 27

I was in the same situation when I had my son the hospital put him right in my arms in the front seat I wore no seat belt and just held him in my arms most cars back then didn't have seat belts and they did not have air bags also if a cop found you driving drunk the cop would drive you home

Its really cool to see and hear the dads birth story. I wish more dads would do this if for nothing more then the memories for family and children. Congrats to both mom and dad and Baby Jack!

I know what your wife was going through, and it was so hard! My blood pressure was 170/90, and I was 28 weeks along. I had preeclampsia really bad, and I had to have an emergency C-sections. Having the doctor break news like that isn’t for a mother’s heart. I’m so glad that everything went well, and I send your wife hugs for doing such an amazing job. Little Jack is really beautiful, what a sweetheart 💙💙! Congrats to the both of you, for he is so lucky to have you guys as his parents🥰! PS, my little guy is doing well, he’ll be turning 8 next month. So, enjoy that baby, because in a blink of an eye, he won’t be a baby anymore 🙃

Dude, I totally hear you on the epidural being the best. It was the same with our first, it absolutely breaks your heart to see them hurt. It's absolutely awesome having kids, literally the one of the best things ever. I know people have lots of opinions on KZread, but just remember, the best book to read for that little man is the Bible, no better guide.

I'm so jealous. I had mine before they used epidurals. Oh, the pain and the nightmares occasionally after that. I wouldn't have more than two. Never could understand the women who could tolerate having a lot of kids.

It is interesting to see how newborns naturally curl back up into a little bundle.

Wow! How lucky am I to have stumbled across this in my feed this morning. I normally stick to somewhat of a routine of videos I watch but was pulled to this one for some reason. Like I said I’m glad I was. You are such a great story teller. Loved the format. I didn’t want it to end. I’m so filled with emotion over Jack’s Story. What a beautiful and precious boy you have. I’m so happy you had a healthy and happy birth story to share. I kept thinking all babies should be so lucky as to be born to such a wonderfully expectant Mother and Father. Congratulations on your new bundle of joy. I could relate on so many levels even though my two girls are 27&25 now. You just never forget those feelings. What a sweet story. Reminds me of the birth story of our first one 51 years ago. He came home with that exact blanket and I still have the exact blue suction thing that was sent home with our 36 wk. baby. 5 # 14 oz. 19 in. 1972

Epidurals are the BEST! Epidurals definitely make you cold. I bet she was shivering. Welcome, Jack! Congratulations!!!

Back in the 80’s, had a very difficult delivery, 24 hours, no meds and my second, 16 hours, no meds. Wish I could have had an epidural. Glad you all are well!!!

Congratulations to you both! Jack is absolutely gorgeous!!! I think I had a permagrin the entire video just staring at all three of you. I am so impressed with how comfortable you are holding him and how he is comfortable in your arms, my husband was never really that comfortable holding infants until they got much older. I just came upon this on my KZread page. What a gorgeous little baby. Being a parent is tricky, but it is so rewarding. There will be a ton of advice online. I will give this one tip that my mom (who was an R.N for over 42 years) and I did with my 2 (I went to medical school as well) I got this thing that keeps your baby on their side in the crib. The only reason I am even giving this recommendation is because when babies spit up or throw up if they are not on their side they can aspirate. Just like when a person is passed out from drinking or having a seizure, you always roll them on their side so they don’t choke on their vomit. You both have brought a beautiful little baby into this world and you will start to know what different cries mean and make the best decision for Jack. I wish you all the happiness in the world. Sorry for the novel sized comments. You are a great father already. Jack is the luckiest little boy to have you both as parents. God Bless🙏🏻❤️

Sorry that advice is out of date. It’s what I was told thirty years ago but the advice has now changed to always place baby on his back to sleep as it’s the best way to avoid cot death. If baby is on his side there’s a chance he could fall onto his front and then have trouble breathing or overheat. There was a big worldwide campaign in the nineties called‘back to sleep’ and rates of cot death really dropped. Please check with your own medical team. Jack is just beautiful.

@@juliebrooke6099 it’s not outdated, they have a cloth thing that keeps babies on their side in the middle of the crib they can’t roll over as it keeps them on their side. Babies can aspirate on their backs, it is still the same advice for someone having a seizure, roll onto their side. You do not place a baby on their side without this thing that keeps them on their side and supports their back. As I stated everyone has different ideas, but one constant is babies can aspirate on their backs when they are small.
