It’s believed that during each of the 13 nights leading up to Christmas, a Yule Lad comes down from the mountains to bring children gifts or candy - and sometimes play pranks. Yes,, somewhat. These are pagan characters that were adapted into christianity to fit with the birth of Christ. The influence is obvious, such as the gift giving and there being 12 days in which they come, and then 12 days in which they leave with Christmas being directly in the middle.

I simply dont like this 13 santa claus or just trolls that were designed to scare children. Later all this trolls took up same practice as santa claus by giving gifts or candy. Its also sexist as all 13 are males.
