The Arbiter's story technically begins in Halo Reach. He was the Supreme Commander who led the attack on the planet. And like he said in Halo 2's prologue, he followed the fleeing Pillar of Autumn to Halo.

Joshua Folkestad the arbiter was one of the covenant commanders that killed the most humans, he glassed a LOT of planets (including reach) and killed humans by the millions. Hell he would even show up personally to battle to kill them himself, and yes in reach after u destroy the big covenant ship all the rest that arrive are commanded by arbiter.

Same, it's a miracle I graduated last month

i remember being so attached to the halo trilogy and when arbiter says to lord hood, "were it so easy" i actually teared up. halo has a very strong bond with my childhood and its not explainable to people who didn't connect to it like the rest of us. And im sure i can speak for us all when i say this game is unbelievably intertwined to us all as a whole. i cannot hear the theme or see a cutscene without getting strong goosebumps and a smile created by pure excitement that i dont know how to place elsewhere. Happy to have served with you all. OO'Rah

@@thanosmaster-abel559 Arbiter, at that point in his journey, is saying that he doesn't care about his life. Disavowed and stripped of his rank and honor, he sees himself as already dead. The title of Arbiter was only a vehicle for redemption to him, with its destination being an honorable death. The lives of his comrades, on the other hand, are still worth something to him, hence why he values them more than himself.

Katzenspiel Game yet I think the arbiter In halo 5 was just a market device, everyone knows and loves the arbiter and to see him reduced to a side character when he was just so badass and shouldn't he be a lot less trusting of ONI agents or ONI in general, especially with one that volunteered to assassinate him but when he hears that they are trying to hunt the chief he either due to his relationship with chief, maybe he'd want to protect him or when they destroy the covenant he comes along with them to find chief and when they Osiris and Blue team face off against one another again the chief and his squad are ready to open fire but when arbiter comes out of the shadows and chiefs squad lowers his weapon, he'll I can even think of the dialogue Master chief: piss off Locke: stand down or we will kill you Arbiter comes ot of the shadows and says Arbiter: were it so easy I would just like to see him play a bigger part

38:13 is arguably the best moment in the halo franchise. halo 3 will always have a special place in my heart for its masterpiece of a story, and its extremely fun multiplayer.

Tells the drones how they are used by the prophets and will die (shoots all the drones dead)

we traded one villain for another.....the Arbiters' way of saying: It was at this moment we knew we fucked up.

34:59 is honestly one of the best scenes in the whole series. The visual, the music, everything.

Its a callback to when chief snd arby first meet when he says "were it so easy" meaning how he wants to kill chief but its just too difficult, now after the campaign and the bond is stronger, the general says he cant believe chief is dead, arby replies "were it so easy" as a callback to say he believes the chief isnt dead.

Halo 2 being the only Halo I haven't played, this genuinely brings so much Halo lore I didn't even know existed and has shocked me a lot. But everybody else has known for, what, 15 years?

Arbiter was always my favorite character, even as a kid who had no idea what was going on since his first Halo game was Halo 3

@@LittleCatGaming132 Back then CoD and Battlefield were taking over the gaming industry and you had to either adapt or be overcome. Singleplayer games were on the decline at the time (I believe the lowest amount of popular singleplayer games was around 2014) and to just offer the same multiplayer in Halo 4 would have been a huge mistake. I have faith Halo Infinite will go back to its roots because I see people having a taste for more than just action shooters as seen by Red Dead and other RPG's where character development takes the forefront.

The relationship between Chief & Arbiter was something I never thought it would hit mr so hard in my feelings especially this 34:53 part, the ring that started all with everyone was intrigued by to a point which they joined forces to stop it from happening. This comes from someone who experienced it recently after a long time of waiting to try it out

I miss the old sangheli design used in the anniversary. The Arbiter is one awesome guy

i just saw complete halo storyline and fell in love with arbiter's past and his character development with master chief. arbiter is just awesome

I see a lot of people asking why the Arbiter and the other Elites (Sangheili) had to change appearance. The "new design" is actually (according to the lore) a different sub-species of Sangheili. The Sangheili from H4 and 5 are a different variation of the species, in the same way that the Kig-yar are also different. The original versions still exist in the universe. The reason they all appear the same is because it is MUCH easier and cheaper to render the same design in the gane making process. This is why that although in H5 the Arbiter is shown in the "new" design, he is actually still the same as he always was. Stupidly complicated I know but but this is what happens when a studio decides to make changes.

They had to screw over his design in Halo 5, in the trailers they used the old elite art style.

Something that makes Arbiter more alike to Chief and humanity than even he might like to admit is his Laconian wit. How ancient Spartans on Earth were renowned for their sharp, acerbic wit. Arbiter is an ideal companion for THE Spartan, Master Chief because of his own gifts. "That makes two of us" "So, you must be silenced" and "Were it so easy"

Not really seeings how he killed his own Uncle for his incompetence. It'd be hypocritical for the brute to go against what he had striven for since day one of being looked down upon by the very species who was now telling him it had all been for naught. Read Contact Harvest (again) and realize how well the character was actually written. Faith is not so easily dissolved in those who lead their life by it day in and day out, meal after meal.
