She definitely pulls at your heartstrings, and makes me just want to hold and hug her. Yes, i know we cannot do that. But if i were a little monkey i would be her best friend 🧡.

It was heart warming to see Sigrid eating her sweet potato🥔♥ and she is not starving so she must be very good at foraging. Thank you for this nice video with brave beautiful Sigrid!!

I'm 99% convinced that the nursing mum was in fact her mummy too. Not only did she give her the only non confrontational attention but that beautiful girl looked her straight in the eyes as if she understood why she couldn't get caught with her. If any other monkey approached her she would have surely flinched.

Like little Stormy, Sigrid doesn't know she is different. Just wish she had the mothers love like Stormy did!💖

@@charlesanastasia7574stormy had an accident when she was very little, that paralyzed her back legs. At first she got around ok dragging her back legs behind her. She had the support of her mom and siblings who were all high ranking. But as her body got bigger and heavier, friction sores started to form on the legs she was dragging around. Eventually these became so bad and infected that she died in her mother’s arms.

She looks so thankful and happy for the sweet potato.🥰 Poor thing, she’s probably never something kind like that happen to her.😔

What an inspiration Sigrid is! Thank you for telling her story. I look forward to updates on her , I wish she knew how many of us are rooting for her 😍🥰💞💞💞

She's very independent isn't she? Lives one day at a time. I don't know medically how she can survive like that long term. You'd think her little disabled legs would be worn to the bone eventually. But you're the medical expert AM, not me. She's a trooper that's for sure and that may have been her mum at the beginning, grooming her, along with her gran? I hope so.

I was hoping you would give her a hamper. Even tho I know you need to be careful of the others so she does not get hurt. What a sweet girl I wish she had a sibling aunt mum or someone to give her some affection.

I feel more upset that her family have turned their backs on her than because she is disabled. She seems to use her arms to aid her mobility. She never seems to complain. Amazing monkey. 🐒 I wonder if Puppy Mom adopted the babies she did because she started out like Sigrid and saved little ones to make herself a family?

I wonder what the etiology/genetics of Sigrid's condition is? Random mutation? Idk. Im surprised she hasnt developed wounds from pressure on her knees/ankles/toes. It'd be cool to see an x-ray of her limbs. But i hope the best for her. She's a toughie. She seems a bit aloof when other monkeys try to interact with her, imho. Thank you Arroz. While Sigrid’s Story is sad, it’s STILL GOING ON! I hope too she survive’s and becomes a mother. Her kids will be as resilient as she is! I was so afraid this was going to have a sad ending but it doesn’t! 😃❤️ She definitely has a rough go of life but she is strong and beautiful! Thank you again!

Oh what a sweet precious little girl! I just want to let her cuddle with me, yes I know that is a really bad idea but she pulls at my heart strings. She reminds me so much of Stormy. I pray she survives. When she comes of age will any of the males want to breed her? If she does have a baby will she be able to carry it properly?

If she doesn’t make it, it would be from a broken heart, sweet girl, and no one to love. So sad.😭

I’m not sure having a baby would be a good thing for her. It would be hard for her to carry it, the extra calories would be hard to get and the possibility of the deformity being passed on. It would be wonderful for her to have her own family and she may overcome the odds that would come with having a baby. Keep up the good fight girl, we’re cheering for you.

You are so right in saying when God closes a door He opens a window. It’s happened many times in my life. He cares for all His creatures, great and small.❤️I am grateful that her troop hasn’t completely disowned her and chased her away.🙏 Not to be overly graphic but I worry how she will cope with the males mounting when she’s of mating age, that will be difficult for her, that is if they don’t shun her.😢 Gosh, the more I watch her the more I love her.❤ She is so precious.🥰As my daughter would say,” She is one fierce beer coaster!” 😅

It would be wonderful if she could create her own lil family.

She knows she's not like the others! That she's different & because of it will have to be stronger, if she is to survive! True is, she won't get the love & attention she deserves, but accepts it, doesn't let it defeat her & is glad for what little comes her way! I don't see her getting groomed or hug by any other monkey. She is so small, and I so admire her stamina, and determination to survive. She gives me, when I look at her that I feel hopeful and encouraged as a human being. Sigrid is a powerful proof that we as people should learn from. She is a beautiful monkey. Just watching her makes me fall in love with her. Keeping on fighting, Sigrid u are a monkey to believe in.😮😮😮

She must have absolutely relished in eating that sweet potato in ( semi) peace. She's NEVER completely at ease. She's always on high alert. But for a few minutes, she ate😊🙏

I want to cry not for sigrids deformities but for the way the other monkey’s don’t groom her and shun her it breaks my heart seeing her on her own. Thank you Mr am for giving her a sweet potato that would mean so much to her looking at her sweet little face 😢💔

I think the difference is bc Stormy was a baby still.

This story has a lot to teach people. My son was handicapped and people were not always kind.

So sad … Poor baby.. She is all alone.. Aww you are so sweet to give her something.. You are a good person❤. I just wish she had a female that will give her love and care . It is sad that her mom doesn’t care about her..Geez you are right he is a bully..

What a wonderful ending, knowing that she’s still around and healthy, that makes my heart happy. I do hope if she does have a baby that she’s able to climb trees and get around towing a baby.

As brutal as it is to watch this poor girl, it's a a good way to remind the folks who insist that monkeys are wild 🐒 and can't be held to or expected to conform to human standards. It breaks our hearts to see her shunned by her entire troop including her Mum, it what they do and in their eyes represents a perfect universe.

The loneliness of this little girl breaks my heart she looks but NEVER ever complains 😢😢😢

In the monkey world, as in the human world, no one cares for you even if you are handicapped. You have to care for yourself. Sigrid is doing well, caring for herself. She is not without company. Her society has accepted her. They are not bullying her. It's as good as it gets.

Shes walking on the bones of her legs 😬 probably result of inbreeding Poor thing. If she wasn't disabled shed be running around taking food from others and stealing babies. 😮 Its survival of the fittest. She has to be very careful thats what shes a loner and its probably better for her in that condition cuz she cant fight like the rest. I cant see how she is gonna take care of a baby like this but these things are resilient and very strong

This is not caused by inbreeding. The males get ousted before maturity so inbreeding doesn't happen.

Her not getting anything makes me happy that they are cutting down on the goodies so they know how it feels 😢 I wonder if she will be a misfit like they treated stumpy.

I cant wait to see her raise her babies and she is extremely healthy and great will to live so she will be a great mother with strong offspring. I think her mother is either gone or In another troop. I don't think it was the female with the baby because she didn't even acknowledge the baby so I don't believe it was a sibling there was no posturing of respect to the baby and mother it was a awkward exchange then was over definitely not a mother grooming her child

Mr AM - I was going to ask if the male seen at around 33:00-35:00 minutes (scuffle + eating mango) could possibly be her father or uncle, as it seems to be something going on also with his hands? It would suggest that Sigrid is not suffering a random mutation!? Also someone said an older female possibly also had some deformity!

like even when the rare instance of getting afffection/grooming, etc. it seems she refuses to get used to it, if that makes sense. it's so few and far between but she moves on after a short bit.

In some way i think if her mother is gone and no other close family seems like even if she were higher ranking without a mother or strong family support to reassure her and back her up she isn't likely to stand up to those even lower rank with her still young age and her disabilities especially towards the bigger monkeys and adults. Or am i wrong ?
