Having said that… it’s vile to witness the abuse he faced from certain sections of our fan base. Disgusting doesn’t even describe it. It’s absolutely criminal to abuse on personal level, family or racist levels. Arsenal fans have quite a full history with such experience. Eboue and Xhaka at most recently!

Fans are allowed to insult him and his family in any racist way, without any consequences but he is not allowed to celebrate his goal in front of the fans. What a joke.

I was their that day, the Arsenal fans never stopped booing him from kick off to the final whistle..... How we City fans loved his run and celebration...... Bloody brilliant!

One should not expect mercy from others as selfishly by insulting and depriving others.

It should've "the most apt celebration" of all time. Arsenal threw him under the bus with transfer news and fans disrespected him and his family. He said in an interview, that celebration felt like "freedom".

If it's was me i would have done the same if anyone dare to disrespect my family. They fined him for disrespecting the fans and did nothing to the fans who disrespect his family.

I’m an Arsenal fan, but I’m also a Black man. So I have to say it’s terrible how whenever this story is told, people always leave out the fact that the fans were giving him racist abuse.

As an Arsenal fan, I hated Adebayor for this celebration but I never knew the backstory and the abuse that he was getting that day. I respect him again now. His celebration was deserved.
