The Story Behind Ted Bundy's Death Row Meal
Ойын-сауық
Ted Bundy is one of the most infamous serial killers in American history.
He committed a string of horrific crimes before being caught, trialled and eventually executed on 24 January 1989. In the episode of Death Row Diner, Sasha Appleton and Joe Carey discuss Ted's case whilst we see his death row meal being prepared.
His death row meal might have been a slightly unusual choice... and Ted never even ate a bite.

The reason he confessed the day before his execution is because ironically, he was so petrified of dying he had the vain hope that if he confessed to everything including things he wasn't convicted of his execution would be delayed indefinitely so that he could lead them to all the bodies, more trials, etc. Luckily it didn't work for the benefit of humanity.

I also thought he did it because if there was/is a heaven he would get in. Confessing his sins.

Not true. Bundy's last interview the day before his execution was done by James Dobson. Bundy personally picked Dobson who was a Christian conservative, who founded the "Focus on Family" organization. His ideology was basically, "Porn is responsible for everything evil." Bundy confessed to the crimes and blamed pornography. He only did this because Dobson had strong political connections and the ear of the only people who could grant Bundy a stay. He told Dobson what he wanted to hear. Cunning right to the end.
17 mins to find out its nothing weird, just a normal breakfast.
So you’re telling me ima sit here and watch whole video to find out you don’t eat it lmao

That was epic "I don't know what you mean click"
This is a really really really bizarre concept with a podcast style true crime chat on one side and a peice of steak cooking on the other side🤣
i didnt hear a word, too busy watching the meal being cooked
Absolutely everything about the person cooking that meal made me anxious. Not cleaning the pan after the steak, the charred bits of steak stuck to the eggs, everything about peeling the potatoes, shallow frying the potatoes before deep frying, the height of the oil, how hard the butter is before being spread onto the toast, burning the butter in the pan, no herbs in the butter, stacking the dry side of the toast on the jam, using a cleaned nutella jar for a mouthful of milk, the comically small juicer getting quarter of the juice out of seven oranges for a half a glass of juice, spilling the coffee beans whilst pouring them into a spice grinder, pouring boiling water directly on the ground coffee and serving it on a baking tray... chaotic evil at it's finest.

Also, the hash browns that were deep fried are definitely not the potatoes she was butchering just before that shot! I guess they had to use frozen ones in the end lol
Good One.. 👍🏻 wen is the next episode??
Strange format. There is somthing there, but I don’t think the concept is solid yet. Maybe it’s two different shows? Joe is just a set prop, however Sasha is great. The camera loves her.

Personally I think the whole sitting down discussing famous crimes/serial killers is a bit dead, SO many people do it. Realistically are they going to be talking about anything new that wasn't already on the documentary? I agree perhaps a good concept just maybe this isn't it
His last words on Tuesday, January 24, 1989... "I'd like you to give my love to my family and friends." 😈
Ty for trying to keep this clean
Excellent video very interesting
This has some TikTok Energy with the split screen but I like it :) I only figured out at the end that the cooking was related to the topic lmao wiiiiild
man, I watch AOT and girls be like "awww how can you watch such a violent show" meanwhile every girl in the world "let me tell you the backstory of a sociopath serial killer" -.-
Omg so happy sasha gets to do this! Love her on tiktok her voice is so therapeutic perfect for these types of stories

“So this was a cartoon?”
Carol DaRonch, thankfully, was able to escape from Bundy because during their struggle inside the VW he put both handcuffs on the same wrist leaving her right hand free to open the door and jump out. She ran into the street and flagged down an elderly couple and jumped, terrified, into their car. Bundy took off and found another victim named Debbie Kent that same evening. Officer David Lee was the patrolman who single handedly apprehended Bundy in Pensacola and ended his killing spree forever. He is a hero, one of many, in the Bundy saga.

Hungry and horrified now, should be a word for this feeling.
what was the point of the steak being cooked next to this video? it was making me lose concentration on the ted Bundy video
The guy probably accepted to do the video so he could eat the meal afterward just to be told at the end by the girl that he couldn’t lol 😅 queue the curb your enthusiasm theme 😂
Looking at that food I no longer feel hungry, those eggs looked terrible.
Literally all the comments going about why is she so smiley etc, all of you lot are being a bit harsh. This is a podcast light warm address and talk about a topic of interest for many people, true crime is a big area of interest for many and Sashas warm address and chatty nature is very engaging, come across very well and you could present anything and it would be good viewing and engaging. Well done! Beginning of many good things I hope!
Great vid but that ball of dried potato did not make those clean shaped hash browns. ive had them frozen hash browns before.
When I think of the young women of today saying that they can handle/protect themselves and be physically equal to a man, the case of the 17 year old hitchhiker, mentioned here, comes to mind. The following info. is what I recall from a book written by a friend and work colleague of Ted who investigated the cases and did interviews after he was on death row. Prior to the teen's death, news had been circulating of a man targeting and killing young women. The parents of the teen tried to warn her off from hitching because of it. She told them that she was capable of recognizing and avoiding danger and fighting off a man if it came to that, because...(her reasoning) she was tall and fit. As I recall, as soon as she got into his car, he told her that she had made a mistake. She panicked and reached for the door and found that the handle had been removed. I don't recall how he incapacitated her, i.e. repeatedly smashed her head into the dashboard or he may have shot her dead outright, but it only took seconds and he did not even have to stop the car to make her null and void. Given the format of this show, let the teen's harsh lesson be food for thought.

17:10 For the answer to the title of their video. That's all I wanted to see, lol.
I heard Ted Bundy did not eat his last meal
This was an excellent concise video. Listening to two people talk through a crime case.
😖 The way they literally "murdered" the food, the worst cook ever
Why would you cook the steak and eggs first?
Very beautiful woman. Takes my breath away.
Annoying split screen
So its all Diane's fault basically
middle class kids talking real shit always is cringey af
Everything looked tasty except the eggs, think the butter got burnt cause of the way they turned out with the dark whites . But I would eat that for a last meal, would add mushrooms and onions to the steak
those hash browns are sus
the hash browns ............ the shape is a mystery
He was fathered by his mom and her own father....
Your just talking about his previous crimes not his final meals.

Him ghosting Diane or whatever after she dumped him in the first place, because he wasn’t “ambitious” enough ya know what I’m not going to fault him for that, I don’t blame him for that quite honestly.. However, he should’ve just stopped there and not went to murder, countless innocent lives… that is what I fault him, for. I don’t care about him, ghosting an ex to get back at her for her, breaking up with him in the first place.
Why would you eat when you're about to die? Seems normal to me to be honest . I doubt the food he was served was as good as the video's though.
She has a thing for Ted 👀 Edit: I clicked to see what was so weird about his last meal & got a full biographical lecture on him whilst simultaneously being given a cooking lesson Tf.
