In this week's vlog you will see my interview with Carlo Resoort about the 4 Strings classic "Take Me Away (Into The Night)", which came out in 2001. It became one of the most well known vocal trance classics ever and during the day it got remixed by people such as Gabriel & Dresden, RMB, Coast To Coast, Ron van den Beuken, Purple Haze, Mac Zimms and many others!
Did you know that Vanessa, who's the face of the group, is actually not the one who did the vocals? Carlo reveals this in the interview!
And if you like this one, then also make sure to check out my other interview with Carlo, where he talks about "Carlos - The Silmarillia", a track he and Piet Bervoets did back in 1997:

    Well, there is a bombshell, Vanessa Van Hemert was never the singer. Fascinating learning this stuff, but good to know no-one was treated badly. Also good to know 4 Strings and Susann are working together again. Her voice has a lovely tone! Furthermore, please keep up the good work with these videos. They are a fantastic insight into the behind-the-scenes/back stories of dance music!

    Since this vlog is only costing me time and money, I don't have a travel budget unfortunately, so I can only interview people that live in The Netherlands (or just accros the German / Belgian border) or people that are here for shows, so whenever I see Kirsty is coming to NL, I will try to ask her. So... fingers crossed ;-)

    Thank you for interviewing him. I've always been a fall of all 4 Strings tracks. All of 'em! The vocals make the tracks sound extra good, too. I don't typically like the 'stereotypical trance sound'. The epic breakdown isn't my cup of tea; at all. But 4 Strings's trance sound will always sound good to me. I've always been into a melodic progressive house kinda sound, ex: classic Markus Schulz. But I can hear those influences in 4 Strings, too. Thanks again!

I've tried to find the post but no luck...she said something along the lines of "I dont know why you guys like her she's not even the real singer, the real one is some German housewife" i never understood why she would jeopardize her man's money...but bitches be crazy. I'm a little bit surprised but I think it happens a lot in the industry. Same thing happened with Milk Inc. at late 90s. Few years later, we discovered that Ann never sung any song and instead their songs was sung by Karine Boelaerts.

    JoSeMaPR I think back in the day it did happen more often. There’s a few more examples, but those are not known to most people yet, so I better keep it secret for now 😂😉

    He lies, in a other interview he told Vanessa van Hemert is the vocalist of 4 strings in the first Years.

  • @muzikxpress

    @muzikxpress

    2 жыл бұрын

    He doesn’t lie, Vanessa never did sing on any of the 4 String songs. She was “just” the face of the act. You can easily compare the old 4 Strings songs with the new ones and you will clearly hear it is the same voice (from Susanne Teutenberg). Working on an interview with Susanne later this year 😉

  • @FoneArc
    @FoneArc4 жыл бұрын

    I don’t understand how or why this practice is so commonplace in Europe. Produce hit songs and get a pretty woman to be the “face” and pretend to “sing”. You would think after the whole Milli Vanilli fiasco, they would forbid this practice. It’s unethical and egregious, and here in the US it is seriously frowned upon.

  • @muzikxpress

    @muzikxpress

    4 жыл бұрын

    Trust me, it does happen in the USA as well. Plus what do you think of people that don't write / produce their own songs but are still acting like they did on stage? It happens all around the world, not just in Europe. Especially in today's dance scene there's lots of DJs that say they produce, but they have ghostproducers that make their music. Happens in the USA as well, but most people don't know this ... yet ;-)

    Not going to watch the interview. As far as I'm concerned, after losing Vanessa Van Hemert that was the end of 4 strings. Stupid, stupid move. And clearly, it cost him dearly.

  • @muzikxpress

    She didn't sing on any of the 4 Strings tracks ever, so not sure how "losing" her is a bad thing lol. And the original vocalist (Susanne Teutenberg) is "back" to do all the vocals.

    What a strange comment as muzikxpress said that woman (Vanessa) just appeared in the artwork and videos and maybe lip synced live I don't know. She had zero input in the actual music as far as I can tell.
