Summary
“Goya en Burdeos” is a 1999 Spanish historical drama film, written and directed by Carlos Saura about the life of Francisco Goya, who was the famous 19th-century Spanish painter. Francisco Goya was a Spanish romantic painter and printmaker who was born on March 30, 1746 and died on April 16, 1828. He is considered the most important Spanish artist of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Goya left many works as a court and recording painter, and was also one of the great portraitists at the time. The film won two categories at 1999 Montréal World Film Festival, Best Cinematographer at 2000 European Film Awards and five categories at 2000 Goya Awards.
