I've bought that debut album about 20 times over the years and I'm sure many other Roses fans have had to replace it or purchase it in another form. 32 years on from it's release and I've still not heard or seen a young band anywhere near the level of talent the Roses had or that close brotherhood bond where all 4 members are irreplaceable. The Roses never worked the same unless it was the definitive 4. I doubt we'll witness anything like them again.

The Roses' peak is mindblowing. The talent was obviously there and their early stuff and Second Coming had their moments, but the 'magic dust' was really sprinkled on them around 1987-90. The look, the tunes. They had a stronger 'peak' than most bands.

That's Willesden High Road, NW10. Battery Studios round the corner. My mate worked there at the time over the Xmas period just after we left school in '89. I got all the early Roses vinyl right from the studio - She Bangs The Drums, 12" Fools Gold, Made Of Stone.
