Well, you certainly caught me with the intro.... 🤔 🤣
HE SAID IT!!!HE SAID THE THING!!!!
The opening killed me!!! Well played...
I can't tell you how much I enjoy these recordings, lovecrafts style really "clicks" with this sort of narration/voicework. I don't think I would have found his body of work accessible otherwise. Thanks for the time and effort you put into these!
Ok, I’ve listened to it a dozen times now. The opening gambit is bloody brilliantly delivered Ian. Every time makes me chuckle
Haha the intro gotnme
I loved the intro,as if the thing were remembering what story this was, lol!
Loved the ‘you fool...’ and the merch idea! This stuff will become legendary urban, rural legendary ...anybody called Warren might find Where’s Warren? calls as annoying as anybody called Wally...
Outstanding intro.
Can we keep that intro going forward please?
You guys made the pandemic/lockdown way less horrible. Much obliged. 🙌

Truly outstanding work! You’ve outdone yourself today with that voice acting! Also goosebumps in the end for hearing that iconic phrase
Nearly spoiled your own ending :) Love your re-dos.
When HP Lovecraft scares me less then reality.
Warren, Warren, where art thou Warren?
HA-HAH! The first 5 seconds killed me.
Loved the intro. Thanks for this interpretation. It is extraordinary.

Thanks again, sir!
I searched in vain for this swamp and graveyard for years when I lived near the Gainesville Pike. Maybe I lucked out..... The area was still creepy at night, like the time my Jeep engine cut out and died in between Gainesville and Jacksonville! Great story and narration! The beginning is especially awesome! This is my favorite Randolph Carter story.
Great intro.😂

You fool! Warren is...well, if you don't know by now you'll know by the end of this story.
Just started and already awesome!!!! I'll be back at the end Warren. Poor Warren we knew him well and yet the end is only the beginning.
This story's ending was what I found most intriguing about your channels introductions. Since then, I've heard multiple new stories in this genre thanks to your brilliant narration. Thank you for everything you do, and thank you for doing the story that brought me to you channel! If anyone reads this, check out NEMESIS by HP Lovecraft on this channel. Another great piece!👏👏👏
I hit this once a week. Because the openingmakes me laugh
That intro was SO funny 😭 HB never misses!
Aloha I guess this is what "closure" is. Mahalo Jen & Ian
Ooh... Good one! The beginning had me ROLLING in my easy chair! Not an easy feat. Thank you Horrorbabble!
I remember your first reading of this tale, and I gotta say you haven't lost your touch! A pleasure as always to hear these. And the bit of humor at the beginning was nicely done 👾👍
My goodness! What a very funny beginning. The man's sense of humour is subtle and fantastic!
What can a say . ART 🎨 AND BLIND HORROR. WHAT A Tale masterfully done. Bravo Sir Bravo.
A wonderful example of why narration is so much more than just reading words from a page. It's about understanding the characters, their motivations and the cadence of the story.
superb, couldn't wait for the final line
Well done, Ian. Perfect Intro. This story is one of Lovecrafts more broadly entertaining stories, a stand out. Just so you know, this channel is one of only 3 that I allow to notify me of any new content, and that is because you put out quality, not constantly spamming your subscribers with nonsense. Your channel is a great thing, and you should be proud of your work.

.....when you forget your at work and get to into the story you start acting out parts.......whops
Hahahahah ! That made me laugh, properly laugh. Keep up the good work fella and stay safe.
You totally got me. Great narration
That intro got me good Ian, bravo
I've been listening for a couple of years and finally I found out what the intro is about. Perfect opening!
😆 I love this, its your signature tale. Short enough to repeat regularly. Thank you.
Lovecraft once said he intended for The Outsider to be a sequel to this. I think what's going on is that Harley Warren wasn't killed by the undead things in the tomb, he himself is also undead, kept alive artificially like Dr. Munoz or the zombies from Reanimator. He's researching incorruptible corpses because, like Dr. Munoz before him, his body is still decaying and he's looking for a way to stop it. He fails and when we see him again in Outsider, not only has he deteriorated into a grotesque zombie, his brain has also begun to rot which is why he's lost his memory.
Haha love the updated intro
You fool, Warren is dead! You did a great job narrating this story. A fellow listener help me find the genesis of this opening phrase I love!
This was an awesome classic story tonight. I enjoyed it very much. Have a wonderful weekend. Thank you.💖
Are you telling me Warren is still alive?! Edit: Didn't think too much about the title - only that this is Horrorbabble XD

I found it on joining the horrorbabble club .going threw and listening again to these great storys Warren at long last .love craft would of said no one could say it better than our Ian 😀😀😀💜🙏.
Thank you for not spoiling the ending
"Heard it well up from the innermost depths of that damnable open sepulchre as i watched amorphous, necrophagous shadows dance beneath an accursed waning moon. And this is what it said: "WE'VE BEEN TRYING TO REACH YOU ABOUT YOUR CAR'S EXTENDED WARRANTY..."
Warren status check complete.
This is such a great work of art.
I was about to write, "Nice to know I survived for once..." but then I realized, You Fool, you've posted here already! Cheers Warren, whose mind, like Carter's, is clouded!
One of my favorite Lovecraft stories! Great job
This is one of Lovecraft's I've not read. Excellent stuff!!
This channel is absolutely amazing and awesome!😎👍
The intro was perfect.
Can't believe it took me this long to listen to this one and get the joke lolz. Love it!
Okay the intro was very meta lol
The reread is waaaay better, if that could be conceived to be truth! Your timbre in the original reading is more than adequate but you’ve nailed both the phonetics and the delivery this time. A very, very good listen that’s easy to digest despite the relatively obscure and jarring language structure Howard used.
this is great, exactly what I was looking for
Thank you, sir, for that intro
Genuine stomach flips of dread, and genuinely upset about Warren.
"YOU FOOL! W-wha- oh, right" xDDDDD
Always excellent
Bwahaha omg, that intro!!!
Excellent as always. Thank you Mr. Gordon.
In no way am I a narrator, at all lol but if anyone would be interested to hear the reading of the first part of my story, I would love to hear what you think. I'd greatly appreciate it
Warren: Return the slab!
I had to listen to the intro 3times. I though my KZread was “skipping”. 🤣😂🤣
Poor Warren is immortal! Thus... somewhere between totally alive and absolutely dead 💀. That’s what happens when u work with Randolph Carter. He’s floating in an evil limbo somewhere. Great discussion point, though! Thanks for the wonderful tales.
Very cool and humorous intro and the story is magnificent! Am head over heels for Lovecraft's mastery of imagery that paints such a picture for the reader that they will literally leave their present consciousness and be transported into the setting itself.
Thank you! Good job!
Wonderful work as always.
