Every new company goes through a honeymoon stage and its absolutely normal for a new company to go in another direction. I understand the low attendance but just remember in 2017 - 2019 WWE had the same thing with low attendance. And to see the twitter or X users constantly saying that 'AEW are going out of business', I have to agree with Matt Hardy. You are seriously NOT helping constantly talking down on AEW saying they are going out of business, which is ABSOLUTELY not the case. How do the haters feel if ONLY WWE was the only major wrestling promotion available, I would say Wrestling would not be hot right now. We needed AEW. The State of Bias Marks Downhill. Vince McMahon state has been downhill but no body cared for all these decades.

I don't think it's wanting to see AEW go out of business. It's more like they started out strong and it's tapered off. It's also kind of annoying to hear Tony Khan almost in a zombie state plugging AEW when we know it's not what it was a couple of years ago. Should it be better? Yes, it should be, but I think airing the backstage footage and the shot at Triple H on live TV was a pretty bad look. We don't want to watch a woman scorn.

That's it exactly! I soured on AEW because they seemed to be doubling down on their mistakes instead of fixing them, largely because people online didn't think of them as mistakes. That's my biggest problem with AEW - TK & a too-large chunk of the roster are terminally online and care only about pleasing that audience, which is always gonna be significantly smaller than the general wrestling audience. And because that audience also defines themselves solely by whatever they're a fan of, they've learned how to use them as a weapon/barrier against any kind of criticism. Basically, they came out feeling like a true competitor and now feel like a sulky fan clique online.

I desperately want AEW to improve & thrive, but only conduct of the staff (including TK) & the fanbase are doing a LOT of damage. When a couple of marquee female roster members are liking suicide prompt tweets dogpiling on another indie wrestler for her not-positive experience with the company, the fans are routinely wishing death on wrestlers who look/act their ages (including Matt & his brother) solely cuz of their ages/not being "originals", and the owner is encouraging this weird "everyone is persecuting us" mindset on social media instead of making the shows or themselves better, it's hard to imagine them being capable of self-reflection enough to realize mistakes exist, let alone fix them. I got back into wrestling because of AEW, because they had to be good if they were chosen to honor my all-time favorite wrestler; yet, it feels like they're devoting themselves to being as unprofessional as possible off-screen & not trying until there's a PPV. It's gone from a breath of fresh air to absolutely depressing.

Really enjoyed Matt’s honesty and candor during this show. Would have liked to hear more from him. Unfortunately this felt more like the Jon Alba show featuring Matt Hardy.

Goodness Albas excuses are annoying. You can compare ratings during the pandemic to now considering both TNA and WWE have better ratings now than during the pandemic Edit: it’s also weird to hear them criticize people for making fun of AEWs attendance directly after Alba talks about “a bit with Sean Ross sapp” in 2019 where they made fun of WWE having to tarp sections. The cognitive disconnect is something else.

There are tons of matches booked regularly that are not related to stories or set up in anyway. It’s not great. And that isn’t a “bad faith” argument. It’s an opinion.

Plus too many random wrestlers from Japanese and Mexican companies. You already have an overly bloated roster, feature them better! In addition, wrestlers suddenly appear for a month and disappear for months. It's very difficult to be invested on all the start stop pushing and poor storylines. Jon alba is so spot on on his points.

Aew doesn't respect what Matt Hardy gave for that company. We watched him almost ☠️ trying to lift that company and when Hardy gets 100% does he get a title run? And frankly, 90% of the negativity I see is from AEW die-hards going after anyone who likes other promotions (even alongside AEW) and/or doesn't have encyclopedic knowledge of AEW & NJPW history, so whenever they bellyache about "negativity", it feels more like they're saying "stop criticizing the thing I like".

AEW should cancel Rampage and Collision effective immediately..The product is watered down. Make one show the mothership instead.

Broken Matt is the only way to go. Matt Hardy is just almost completely Broken. He has to sell himself, but he should just stick to tag team wrestling with his broken character and let someone else carry him.

Matt got a raw deal in AEW.. I loved Money Matt Hardy & Private Party & that run. It should've been bigger. & Matt shouldve gotten a bigger push, even if he ran a stable. Its like, when Jeff came in & he got in trouble, all plans were scrapped for em.. We're all getting tired of FTR & the tag team scene is stale, yet they had the Hardyz just chilling on the sidelines, when they should've bn World Tag Champs, if nothing else, to have it in the history books & lineage of AEW tag titles..love Matt & his motivation & refusing to just quietly go away. Man knows how to work & work fans, & a shame he wasn't bigger since he left TNA, when he was 1 of the biggest wrestlers 8 years ago.

@@2trill4life1 Yeah Jeff's arrest pretty much fucked it all up. Afterwards, Tony didn't seem to trust Jeff for anything serious and Matt kinda got dragged along in the process. Plus before that Matt got a bad concussion in 2020 at All Out. Too bad because in a perfect scenario they could've had a couple of belts around their waist maybe. Something like Sting did. In retrospect Matt did what he could with the abilities that he had at his age and backstage he did his best to get his brother to focus on work instead of doing shenanigans which is commendable, but it wasn't good for his career. I think Matt should really think about his own future right now because he's at the stage where wrestlers go broke and go on shows to be ridiculed due to their aging physique and reduced abilities.

Cody ruined his own character in AEW by refusing to listen to the fans (who wanted him to turn heel) and refusing to wrestle for the AEW world title. He hit his own self imposed ceiling there. Jade is still very green and overrated. She turned down AEW, not the other way around. She wanted a bigger stage to perform on, and WWE is the bigger company. It's simply the move that she wanted, so AEW did nothing wrong there. Punk got fired, and deservedly so. AEW bent over backwards to make him happy, even built a show around Punk and let him decide which talent worked on that night. It's 2024, and choking a co-worker who is half his age is unacceptable in this day and age. He is a disgrace, and not the locker room leader he thinks he is.

I used to watch them weekly, own merch, went to a live event and I can't stand it now. They need to do a better job consistently telling stories and building up stars long term, free agents will still take time to build up too. Tony could easily put the belt on Danielson, his biggest draw, for a few months whole he tries to seriously figure out how to improve. Throwing money at the problem and signing every free agent isn't the solution.

He wants stars that connect with the younger fans. The Hardys are way past their prime. Matt is nearly 50 years old, and simply cannot physically do the stuff that made him a star anymore. They should be transitioning into backstage roles.

He wants to be buddies with his EMPLOYEES, not the boss! He has ZERO clue on how to produce/book the matches! He will get behind a wrestler for a month or two then move on to the next, new face! We don't want it to "fail". We want it to improve. But they don't want to, and neither do their fans, and so they'll happily cater to a terminally online audience that dwindles more & more but is violently loyal to them instead of a wider audience that might actually expect them to try outside of PPVs.

I gotta be honest, Brays creativity is overrated. Everything he did was taken from movies, Tv, graphic novels, and a heaping dose of Waylon Mercy. It def took some creativity to adapt it all to wrestling, but especially after his death ppl are acting like he created it all from scratch. Taylor has said in interviews that he took it all from movies and other media, and the Hawaiian shirts are straight from Waylon Mercy, along with the cadence of his speech and leaning into the southern accent. I’m not saying he’s not creative, I’m just saying let’s calm down with how creative he was.

AEW just dont know how to tell a story.

Everything Punk said in that Ariel interview happened so it was embarrassing to prove him right, especially on their TV show. Its different if they went to a podcast or interview and talked about it. Plus what you said about Hunter and co is literally defamation because you have no proof they knew about the sexual part. All we know is people at the top knew they had a relationship.

AEW should of stayed as one tv show plus dark. They grew too quickly and it's not organic. After the pandemic people just wanted to get out of the house. AEW got unlucky when it came out when the world shut down

The company itself (via its owner & the group the company is named after) have become too cocky and too full of themselves. They have their heads up each other's 🍑s, as well as their own, and are high on their own supply. They have become a toxic element within the pro wrestling industry...which then trickles down to their diehard fans who themselves perpetuate the toxicity. That in addition to p1ssing away the gold will of most of the viewers who have been watching them from their first press conference in Jan 2019 onward (Including me). Furthermore upon review, many of the promises and claims they made at the start about the Wrestlers getting health insurance and not repeating the mistakes of WCW, etc, have either not happened or have been rolled back on to now where there is no health insurance benefit and are routinely making the same mistakes as WCW in 2023 + 2024. By contrast, TNA is off in their own little corner of the wrestling landscape doing their own thing. They're not trying to be the talk of the pronwresrling world or reinvent the wheel. They're just producing solid shows, got some minor live event touring between tapings and not offending anybody. Rather than trying to be a FAKE "challenger brand" to WWE and punching up far beyond their station in the pro wrestling industry. They should just do their own thing like TNA & MLW & NWA, etc, insteading of force themselves into success. If they just do their own thing with solid pro wrestling fundamentals (which AEW currently does not have) and not constantly be the center of the joke within the pro wrestling industry, they can eventually earn back the good will of the people someday.

Growing is what a company needs! The problem with AEW is TK! The guy is a fan first of wrestling, businessman second! He can’t promote to save his a$$ he needs to step back & be the OWNER & let the people who know wrestling produce & promote the shows!

​@@user-zq1px9yb7gthey don't need 3 shows in 5 yrs. They need to stop hiring talent. TK should step back but I don't think that will happen. They should really first stick to one show and when that's under control they could do a 2nd but its just not organic

Or we're people who got back into wrestling cuz of AEW and have become bitterly disappointed in how it's deteriorated because we're normal humans with functional eyes & brains instead of stans who think an "attack" on AEW is an attack on them. Please, go back to watching BTE reruns. That's more your speed.
