By turning ashes into diamonds, Eterneva is creating a new way to carry the memory of our loved ones with us long after their death.

In a lot of ways, death has become very transactional. When someone dies, we buy an urn or coffin, schedule a funeral, and then it’s over. But grief lasts far beyond a one-time memorial service.
That’s why a company called Eterneva has set out to change the way we grieve loss - by turning ashes into diamonds, literally. With its unique cremation diamonds, Eterneva is creating a new way to carry the memory of our loved ones with us long after their death.

Better than an urn in my opinion. This is great, and something to pass on. Can you even imagine having a piece of jewelry that is made from your great great, great and just regular grandparents? I have nothing from them, not even pictures. This is very cool and Coupled with things like ancestry research, It is amazing. I want to work with this company.

@@GD-mw1kd 2 things 1. You’re constantly in a state of grief and won’t be easy to get over the loss if you’re always attached to it. Imagine crying every few seconds when you see it. Also taking to it like it’s a real person would freak a lot of people out tbh. 2. You would need to be extra careful not to lose it.. I would get a safe but then what’s the point if you are not using it. Extra: say it’s passed on from generation to generation.. would be cool until someone starts worshiping it like it got special powers or something.. weird things happen and you suddenly think.. hey it could be the diamond.

@@freethink Sometimes, things are more valuable to their special owners and for their stories. If we don't go extreme on traditional thinking, diamond afterlife could become the main stream . Although I don't like diamond or even all jewellery normally, eterneva took this to next level. I talked about this to my mom, she asked me if I wouldn't mind wearing a diamond made up from a deceased ash, I said why not. Traditional thinking is limiting our ideas and thoughts.

I hope they expect you to keep some of the ashes, in the worst case where someone loses their diamond so another can be made.
It’s all fun and games until grandma stolen… there was a story about that once actually I think it was a necklace and I’m not sure if it was a diamond or some sort of polished resin 🤔

@@freethink I actually had an idea for this in this video that you did back when I saw the episode of Big Bang Theory with Howard making diamonds out of the girls hair
You can also put in ashes into a tattoo.
Dealing with grief is unique. At least they're making money out of this. (It's very weird, that is too beautiful)
This would be really interesting for other purposes too. For example, a whole new market can be created for diamonds made from criminals. Maybe victims can have a murderer cremated and turned into a diamond as a sort of restitution, with their symbolic souls forever being in the hands of the victims.

Does it have to be human ashes or any ashes can turn into diamonds?
Carbon burns away at 1400F. Cremation furnaces burn at 1800F. There is no carbon left in cremation ash to make a diamond with. These are normal lab-grown diamonds being sold at 10x their price.

Shining light even in death
God, imagine what evil people will try to do with this.
At the beginning of the video I found the very idea distasteful, disrespectful, sacrilegious, cynical - profiting off the pain of others. However, we all mourn and celebrate the lives of our departed love ones in our own cultural ways. If this diamond process helps the family and friends of the bereaved through their grief then that’s great.
Would you rather be an ash sitting at some corner in some vase in your home or be a diamond.
Turn my ashes into a diamond and place me beside your heart where I truly belong.
