I REMEMBER HIKING THE APPALACHIAN TRAIL MANY YEARS AGO AND IT WAS AMAZING BUT, THE CDT IS ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING GORGEOUS SCENERY WITH SNOWCAPPED MOUNTAINS. LOVING IT. ❤

The C.D.T. of my Triple Crown was very different in many ways. No continuous foot path , different routes, Very few Hostels. But the scenery made up for the down sides. Best of Luck !!! Coming from the UK / Europe where trains are used by most people fairly regularly, I forgot they're not as popular in the US! You saying that was your second time of a train reminded me of when a friend from LA came to London and had her first train ride ever with us there! Yess I been riding the train every weekend to get out the city to local trails.

Heck yeah! Had to celebrate the start by watching this on the TV instead of my phone. As you walked up to the lake, I said "holy crap" and then you said it a second later, so it's a common sentiment. 😆

That’s the most impressive place I have ever seen. Ha I was solo hiking back to my van after jumping off a bridge into a glacier fed river with some random people from Europe and cruised up on 3 grizzly cubs playing around in a thicket lmao i took off running fast AF

Safe travels to you Kelly. I have a bear tip for you. If you do not know grizzly bears do not run away like black bears noise does not scare them if one is spotted it is best to back up slowly at a safer distance and let it go away. Be caeful and have fun.❤

Those first miles from Big Chief Mt are so exciting. I took the trail over to Goat Haunt, then Hole in the Wall and down to Bowman Lake. What an adventure you guys are going to have. See you in San Pedro Park, another great CDT section.
